Diana, LOL... The Oceanside house/nursery is not open to the General Public. I have been doing business with John for 3 yrs now and have a good relationship with him and his wife aka good customer, usually dropping minimum $1000.00 plus a trip. If John knows your going to spend and you have been doing business with him for a while and you pre arrange it HE MAY or MAY NOT let you go to the Oceanside location..but on another note that is why THERE IS AN OPEN HOUSE once a year or more. Last year was the first open house and there was only one, but who know this year. One of the reason John dosnt open Oceanside to the General public is a trust issue, this is where he and his family live on 3 acres thus the trust, also John has to take time out of his day working at his Vista Nursery to go and meet a person at his Oceanside house/nursery. For John to do this he is driving about 15 to 20 min to get to his house and another 15 to 20 to get back to his Vista nursery in his gas guzzling truck, with gas and car maintenance costs and the sales he might miss being away from his Vista nursery he potentially goes negative and loses money if he goes to Oceanside and someone only buys 1 or 2 plants that potentially might only be 100 or 200 dollars. Again cause of trust/safety issues and cost effectiveness John dosnt really open the Oceanside house up to the general/retail public. Diana I actually took a friend over a week before the open house, and he dropped $4000.00 and I bought a a huge Muang Jack tree (8ft)from John and couple big red plants for about 1100.00 than I went back with 2 other friends and bought more plants from John at the Oceanside location 2 days before the open house, so I really didnt need to go on the day of the Open house but Sonia and I are the ones who helped John set it up and posted for him on Gardenweb and Maui Plumera Gardens regarding it. Sonia was there last year of the day of the sale helping John.

You could purchase from him online at his website and he has an eBay store with a few varieties. On eBay he is under californiahoya.
