You may have to change email configurations when 'offsite'. Or use webmail.

Here is a link that might be useful: Can a customer send/receive TDS e-mail while connected to another Internet provider?

You may have to first log onto the free website, this may be no more than agreeing to the rules, mostly stuff to protect the free WiFi from any legal/privacy responsibilities.

agree, if you see it coming back that means it is deep rooted and is not being fully removed, in those type cases it takes the use of some special programs that can only be used with the aid of the support help forums, if you need a link to one you can go here, register, and post a thread in that area. Analysis and Malware Removal since you did not tell us which programs you use that makes it difficult for us to know if you are using good legit tools. If you do not have malwarebytes free then you will definitely need it. How to download and install Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware application for Windows computers always update before using it and always do full scan.

Update: 1. Original router Dl-524 on XP was dying, then died. 2. XP machine now functioning as wireless with new router (D-Link WBR-2310 -- it was cheap because store running a special!). Set it up during 2-hour phone call to ISP (Verizon) and done manually -- he wanted to bypass the CD w/router even though the package said "use CD first." 3. Used Recovery Partition pre-installed on Vista machine. But when restart, still same 3 messages as before: a. apsInitialize b. apsGetInterfaceCount c. WLAN Monitor stopped 4. Google searches with the above (a, b, & c) gathered pages and pages of hits, some helpful some not. Many lead to dead-end in forums closed to outsiders -- a subscribe-here type. But all summaries were related to errors appearing after person installed, or attempted to install, a D-Link router Bottom line: Because using the Recovery Partition didn't get rid of the error messages, I wonder if I need to swap existing Vista for different Vista (but same model). I'm going to stop by store on way home from office to ask them. I hope original salesman is there as he is knowledgeable, the store guru, and has helped me before. Any thoughts?

I will caution you on using any of those type applications on a facebook page it is much safer to go to the actual game site home page and play there, any app like that on facebook can be and have often been altered to infect a users pc by changing the scripting of the app. I urge people to NEVER use any type of 3rd party app on facebook or any other social networking site, people set those things up specifically to entice people to use them and get infected. Since you have been using them I would urge you to download, update and run a full scan with malwarebytes free to see if you are possibly infected. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware for a reality check just go to google and search for facebook virus for just a few of the many types of infections out there. Facebook and my space are a hackers dream land.

You are trying to send and receive emails using your ISP's email through a different ISP. You can go to your ISP website and check your email there.

I have the same problem. I have Cox as my email and when I go out of town and have to use a different ISP, I cannot send emails out of my Outlook Express.

I just checked the way my e-mail accounts are set up, and under "server" is listed "any account available". I never have trouble accessing my e-mails on either my isp's server or gmail's server. I have used wi-fi at motels and campgrounds (and even on individual's unsecured networks) and never had a problem. I use Outlook Express as my client.

Thanks folks!!! I followed the directions from the TDS link and then drove to the nearest motel and sat in their parking lot to do a test. I was able to use the motel wireless and could receive mail and surf the web. I forgot to test to see if I could send mail and will check that tomorrow.
