The "Cylinder Leakage Tester" costs $162.00. You say "if I am handy" I could improvise. I can certainly make something with tubing or 1/8" pipe, a gauge, and small valves to inject some air into the cylinder. What can I use for spark plug threads on my homemade device? Here's an excerpt from Kohler's book. Air escaping from crankcase breather ......................................................Rings or cylinder worn. Air escaping from exhaust system ............................................................Defective exhaust valve/improper seating. Air escaping from carburetor .....................................................................Defective intake valve/improper seating. Gauge reading in âÂÂlowâ (green) zone ........................................................Piston rings and cylinder in good condition. Gauge reading in âÂÂmoderateâ (yellow) zone ............................................Engine is still usable, but there is some wear present. Customer should start planning for overhaul or replacement. Gauge reading in âÂÂhighâ (red) zone ..........................................................Rings and/or cylinder have considerable wear. Engine should be reconditioned or replaced. If you notice, none of Kohler's "tips" indicate a blown head gasket. Would a bad head gasket be included under "improper seating"? What will I see/hear and, where will the air be escaping to if it is a typical blown head gasket? While I'm having the engine held with the piston at TDC, do I pressure-up the cylinder and then close-off the source of air? Or, do I maintain a small continuous flow of air going to the cylinder and determine where the leak is coming from and how bad it is, by looking/listening? I don't see any reference to the breather reeds. Will this air test reveal a problem if it is a reed issue?

well those toolbars come with many many programs if you do not read carefully when doing installs or updates including java, flash, and IE, many of them, in fact there is a hall of shame at COU forum listing all of the programs that now include pre selected toolbars in their install, it has nothing to do with the browser you use to do the download or install it has to do with watching what is pre checked when doing your updates or program installs and un checking any for things like toolbars. I have had to clean tons of toolbars off of peoples computers too who had never heard of firefox, only had IE. I tell people to add a second browser because it is a very good idea to always have at least 2 on the pc because as we all know IE can and does fail then leaving them no way to access the internet. Whether they select firefox, chrome or opera, it does not matter but firefox is the best known so when asking for help they will find more people that are familiar with it. All browsers have their pluses and minuses none are perfect and I have never seen anyone here say any one browser is perfect. the point to make to people who have loaded up their pc with toolbars, why this is happening to them, is to watch what they are doing! Pay attention to every single line when doing any type of install. And do not let it add unwanted items, if they are not told how it happened it will happen again. I am afraid you have one of the rogue infections and if that is the case please do NOT run any type of programs especially any that would remove any type of files especially temp files because these rogues hide your files as temp files and if you run anything you run the risk of deleteing your actual files. To fully remove this nasty from your pc please go to the link I am providing, register there, and post a new thread in the area I link you to. Do not follow instructions you may find there that sound similar to your problem each person needs their own instructions. I agree that you need a can opener and a decent knife, probably a spatula/turner and maybe a large spoon. Other than that, I'd make sure I had dish soap to wash dishes. With your electric skillet you probably don't even need a frying pan, although the cooking utensils I've encountered in the "kitchenettes" were uniformly abysmal. If you have one, instead of a Crock Pot, consider taking along a small Nesco Roaster. Mine is a 6 quart and it cost less than $50. It can be turned very low and used as a slow cooker, or turned up and used to make pulled pork, a pot roast, roast chicken, a mess of beans, lots of things. You can also use it for baking, it makes outstanding baked potatoes and sweet potatoes, stuffed acorn squash halves with sausage, even muffins. Just pre-heat, put the pan on the rack, replace the lid and bake it. Things don't brown as much as a regular oven, but it works just fine. With your diabetes diagnosis, I know you'll have to be even more careful. Many grocery stores now have salad bars where you can buy prepared vegetables like sliced peppers or broccoli florets, and some also have bags of things like butternut squash cubes and vegetable mixtures. Add a chicken breast and you could make a fast stir fry with some of that pre-made brown rice. Produce is often available by the piece instead of by packages, so you could pick up a squash or a couple of sweet potatoes, and salad comes in a bag now and even has the dressing with it sometimes. Hash is easy in an electric skillet too, a small bag of frozen hash brown cubes with onions added, some cooked deli type meat (lots of low salt options available now), cook and stir until done. Add some eggs and you have breakfast without the need for bread. Even better, bake a couple extra potatoes the night before and use those! Travelling with Dad was interesting as he was diabetic and had to eat regularly, but eventually we caught on, so it's doable. It takes more thought, but it'll all fall into place, I know.
