@%$^#@^$ING Mac Mail!

Aargh! Once again, my mail icon, the stamp, started bouncing and demanding I sign in to Mac mail again. This always means it's time to go into the keychain and delete all of the logins for Mac mail, and then I have to re-sign in. Then everything is fine for a little while, until it starts again. I can't believe Fabulous Apple has such an obnoxious bug.

Yesterday, it started yet again. Went into the keychain, deleted the logins for both of my mac email accounts, and now I can't get mail online! The box drops down asking me to confirm my password, which I do, mail seems to go online for about three seconds, then off again and the box drops down yet again. In addition, there is a box asking for my mail password for one of the accounts that won't budge. It's just sitting there. Nothing happens when I click on cancel or okay.

I'm pretty sure the problem isn't with my mac email addresses, per se, but rather with getting yahoo mail back online in the mac mailbox function, but I can't figure out where I re-sign in the yahoo server.

This is driving me batty. For one thing, why do I have to go through this every few months? And why am I having so much trouble this time around?

Jeeze, a whole host of problems.
Why you keep having to reenter settings, I'm not sure.
You aren't doing anything you can think of to cause corruption are you - like cutting power to the computer or the like ?

Anyway, for getting Yahoo Mail set up in Mail here are some links, depending on whether you're using POP or IMAP

If things are getting stuck or stalled, there is a Mac utility named "Activity Monitor" for viewing processes, and "killing" them as it's called. Actually it's called "Quit" there.

You can also use Cmd+Opt+Esc to bring up the Force Quit window so you can kill an app.

I'll have to think about the rest of it though - why your keychain is losing its settings.

I just got my Mac N Cheese this year. So far, I'm not seeing any problems with it. Actually Mac N Cheese is about to bloom for me!! I amended the soil when I planted it with fresh potting soil, so I hope that helps. With my Tiki Torch, I've noticed that a lot of the stems (with flower buds) are flopping over. However, the buds were on the plant when I got them and they were already drooping. Do you think I should cut them off?? Anyways, I agree completely with echinaceamaniac, these plants aren't really that great. I think we should right letters to Terra Nova nurseries expressing our concerns. Maybe, if we're REALLY LUCKY, we might even get a refund. Also, a word of advice to echinaceamaniac, try buying larger plants with more established root systems. I know they're more expensive, but this may help them survive in the long run.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the screen is small". If you want to resize a window, then in the upper left are three buttons - red (close), yellow (minimize), green (maximize). If you want to adjust the size of the windows there are three little diagonal lines in the lower right corner of a window, just click and drag.

Pammy, I don't know if I'm reading your post right, so let me confirm I understand. You have a Mac now but want to buy a standard laptop (Windows) right? If that's correct, I think it's a wise choice since Apple products are used at your work. Of course as with anything there is a small learning curve with the touchpad but they are intuitive so its nothing too severe (I think anyways). Here is a link to a good article from the "For Dummies" book series (sorry, I hate that title!) that explains the buttons, which mimic a mouse and how to use it. How to use a touchpad and of course if you run into trouble, specific questions can always be answered here. As for the wireless mouse, I think that's an excellent idea. If I used my laptop sitting at a table or desk, I would sure use one! Brand wise you can't go wrong with Logitech

The first one is for an Apple MacBook Pro. That's not the current connector style, so it's probably an older MBP. Which specific model depends on the wattage of the adapter; the higher the wattage, the bigger the screen on the MBP. The second one looks like it goes to a Dell laptop or notebook. I don't know their line well enough to be more specific. The third is kind of hard to tell (would be easier to tell with a head-on shot of the connector) but it looks from here like a generic charger for either a mobile phone or tablet or maybe even something like a digital picture frame. There might be more clues (i.e., a recognizable brand name) on either the back or the plug side of the adapter.

This does not help your immediate problem, but my Mac mail does the same thing from time to time: bouncing icon and repeatedly asking for password confirmation. I have found the problem to be transitory, however. I usually quit Mail if one or two tries doesn't stop it and, upon returning in an hour or two, the problem is gone. Being a really non-technical person, I've always just assumed it was some temporary hang-up or miscommunication between my email account (which says it does not support Mac mail) and Mac mail and gone with the flow...
