If all else fails, may I suggest that you use the Windows Disk Cleanup or better yet CCleaner. Then try again. I am thinking you may have had a corrupt download and it is being stored in a temp file thus impeding your successful update download. Also, have you tried updating in Safe Mode? DA

If it was in a temp folder, it should be ok to delete. I would run my virus program while in Safe mode, to see if it pickes it up again and gets rid of it.
