How much fire rated sheathing should we use?

I'm trying to figure out how much and what type of sheathing to use.

According to the local code, anything less than 4' from the property line needs to have fire rated sheathing. We have a couple of bump outs into this line that we'll be covering.

The contractor and supplier both assumed we'd use it on the entire west side of the house, most of which is more than 4' from the fence. I checked with the architect, because the plans clearly show that we're only putting it on the bump outs.

The architect's response was that we only NEED it on the bump outs, but he recommends it on the whole west wall for safety and insurance reasons.

But, we're using fibre cement siding, and 2" EPS foam under that. So, the siding is fire retardant, and the foam is not. So, does the sheathing matter that much?

Also, we've upgraded to plywood from OSB everywhere else, but nobody locally seems to provide fire rated plywood. OSB would be our only option for that side of the house.
