Really dumb question...

I was sending a message and while typing, I hit a button and everything on my screen went up about 1/2 and inch...Now,all the headings are way up and if I want to use the back arrow, I have to jiggle the mouse way up on top and finally it will appear....What button could I possibly have pushed and how can I undo????

Didn't I say, it was a dumb question...........

I'm not sure I exactly know what it is that you are saying has happened, but more often than not, rebooting the computer will solve 'odd' problems.

Have you tried rebooting (turning off and then back on) yet?

There are no dumb questions...and often things are just pretty hard to try and explain.

my guess is you hit F11 key that will make your browser go to full screen and the top part will be hidden try just hitting it again, you just toggle it off and on by hitting the same F11 key

The rule of thumb is to start your seed 5-6 weeks before setting out, I like to start them earlier. If they look like they're stretching don't sweat it, just plant them deeper or lay them in trenches after nipping off the leaves that will be buried, they'll form roots all along the buried stems and you'll have nice strong plants. I've already started mine in the greenhouse, I'll just pot them on until I can plant them in they're permanent spot. Last year was a bummer for tomatoes here so this year I'm going to grow a few in the greenhouse. Annette

Treating it like fruit leather or jerky might be the way to go. Or if you can grind some kibble to a flour, or close, in a coffee/spice grinder, it would absorb some of your moisture. Might be good to try and get to a cookie dough type mixture so you could roll it thin. A food processor might give you a nice stiff mix. For dog treats i use the dry pulp from my juicer, usually carrots, beets, greens, apples, etc. Then add cooked pumpkin, squash, rice etc, whatever i have leftovers to make a 'dough'. Sometimes liver or ground meats. Coconut oil or olive oil. The pulp is just a good extender for the rich liver. A smashed banana or a bit of peanut butter. I don't usually go out of my way to make them. Just if the timing is right, after making juice for us, i'll make a stiff dough if i have time. No real recipe. The pic is a gift giving batch. I usually just cut with a pizza wheel. Because of the pulp, they dehydrate better than baking. Before i had a dehydrator, i just dried in a low oven, mine is gas and will go as low as 150. My pups love sweet potato and beet chips and so do we. So that is a win/win. Treats for everybody. I don't salt or season them. Sliced very thin, card stock thin, they are crispy like potato chips. I just rub with a very thin amount of olive oil or coconut oil. A mandolin is the best way to get thin even slices. -this batch was for the shelter bake sale a couple years ago so i'm sure it was grain-free. I'm remembering dried blueberries and dried parsley. No ofal/meats. I keep all homemade treats in the freezer. Fine in the fridge for a week. Without a juicer, a cheese grater or chopped and pulsed in a food processor would work.

Set-back thermostats may soon be your best friend. Steam/hydronic heat generally doesn't have that "instant gratification" of standing over a forced-air vent in your bathrobe first thing in the morning. Certainly with the older systems, it takes a relatively long time for the radiators to heat up -- but they also take a long time to "cool down" so you end up with different kind of heating experience. The "why" is that you have to heat a large amount of piping and radiators, as well as potentially water/steam before you "feel" the heat, as opposed to just heating a little air and blowing it through the duct. Its not necessarily "slow" (or inefficient) in heating the house in general compared to forced air, but doesn't have those "hot spots" that can be so satisfying. For me, I've generally had older systems and have the "turn on" time about an hour before I wake up and, on work days, it reverts to the "cool daytime" temperature about when I wake up, so that its just starting to cool off when I'm packing to head off for the day. Your own "lead time" will vary depending on the kind of system you have, how much heat it produces per hour ("BTU per hour"), how well insulated your house is, and how much heat you lose from drafts and the like.

Assuming you have an inline chlorinator, the SWG will simply replace it. No extra piping is required. It's about a grand to upgrade to SWG. 10 bucks a lineal foot sounds pretty high for waterline tile, that works out to around 20 bucks a square foot (waterline tile is 6" high). I guess if it's something really exotic that's possible.

I think it must have been the F11 key so I did what you said, and all fixed....
There are times, when I really feel dumb....Thanks so much for the help.....

Sunny don't worry about asking, it's the way we learn. Reading in places like this helps also. Some times people post their favorite tip, I always print those off for future use.

Vala55, you're so right when you said "Reading in places like this helps...".

I never knew this attribute of the F11 and love it! Sometimes I get frustrated by all the screen real estate taken up by assorted toolbars (especially when I'm using my small laptop). A simple F11 press is the trick!

You really don't need assorted toolbars installed, let me know if there are any you did not install, like ask toolbar, google tool bar, yahoo toolbar, the list goes on forever...

One of the things I enjoy the most with the recent generation of browsers is that F11 hides all the toolbars and bars, upper and lower, rather that just reducing them. Just hover the cursor over the top of the screen and the upper toolbars reappear. Unfortunately the lower ones have to be restored by F11. Hopefully the designers and encoders will remedy that issue.

Zep: You caught me! I was using the term toolbars to refer to those assorted bars at the top and bottom of a web page. Now you've caused me to look up the names so I can be more specific :)

The bars I was referring to are the title,menu, tab, location and status bars.

From checking this forum daily, you all have taught me to be careful when downloading software so that I don't add unnecessary toolbars. Thanks for looking out for all of us.

oh good I am glad it was a simple fix and it was the F11 key. Hey it happened to me when I was first learning too and scared me not knowing what I had done, thankfully someone was around to help me too.
That is how we learn and pass on the knowledge!

One thing a lot of people do not know that is also helpful is using the Control Z combo, if you are typing or something and want to UNdo something you just did try hitting the Control Z and it will undo your last action, it keeps undoing as you keep hitting it. That has saved me a few times. I wish I had an Undo key for life sometimes LOL

Thanks Raven, that is a good tip. In some places there is no undo on the tool bar or in the software I am using.
