Your one 'nice' door might make the other two look cheap, so for that reason, I'd go matching.

There are two completely separate possible problems. Problem #1 is a noisy LED (not, sound noise, but electrical noise that makes radio interference) that makes it more difficult for the radio signal from remote to base to work. Problem #2 is a capacitor on the board that wears out with age that affects the wireless capabilities. The LED bulb doesn't cause a bad capacitor or vice versa. These are cumulative issues, but unrelated in cause. So, it's slightly possible that a combination of these two issues could exist where the cumulative effects of both are enough to make it not work. But, one doesn't cause the other. Test #1 is to just temporarily remove any bulbs from the opener and see if that makes a difference in how the wireless remote works. If it does, then you probably just need a better bulb. If it doesn't, then the next most likely cause is the capacitor. For my opener, the bulbs made no difference. Mine was fixed by replacing the capacitor and is now working fine (at 25 years old).

Dear Johnny Dollar, My kitchen planner/cabinet rep was the one who suggested alder with this stain to soften the redness in the wood. I had initially wanted natural maple, as in our old kitchen. The light color of maple just was not right with the madre perla, the new oak floors, and all the other colors. The softness of the wood was never discussed and this is the first time that I have heard about it. We are almost empty nesters, so this kitchen will not get as much wear and tear as in a family with young kids. So far no gauges or dents or chips. The cabinets were made halfway across the country from where I live, so staining was not done on my premise. The finish on the cabinets looks very even.

Uh, well, I just never even considered it for some reason. After the fact I kind of wished I had gone with squared doors on both upper and lower but when I was making my decision I really hadn't researched and well, I know I sound like an idiot, but that's what was suggested and that's what I went with. We were in a hurry to get it done and didn't spend much time thinking about the cabinets. I found this forum after the cabinet, granite, and appliance decisions (ie...the biggies, sigh) had been made but thankfully, before the flooring, backsplash, sink and faucet decisions had. I really got an idea of what my dream kitchen should look like and frankly, my new kitchen isn't it. However, my dream kitchen wouldn't fit in with the style of my home and this is definitely not my forever home so it works for now. I do love my kitchen, it's just not my ultimate dream kitchen, ya know? Live and learn. And thanks to this forum, I've learned a LOT. I think my new kitchen will help with the resale value of my home (previous kitchen had white, builder's grade, thermofoil cabinets and green laminate counters). Sorry, probably way more information than you wanted but I wanted to explain how and why I came to my decisions...or rather, how and why others came to my decisions for me.;o) Robin
