Need help with my page

I know this probably isn't the correct forum for this, but I'm getting desperate. I posted in 2 other forums but they don't seem to have any traffic so I'm not getting any answers to my question.

I'm posting it here sense this forum looks pretty active and I'm hoping someone here can help me.

Here's my question...

I need to put click-able links to my plant photos on my trade page. But I can't figure out how to do it?

Right now I have the photos on my trade list. Problem is, there's so much there that it's very slow to load and some times people can't get it to load at all. My photos are stored at Photobucket. Can someone please tell me how to make click-able links? I'll be so grateful.

One way is to use html code as follows:

<a href="URL of picture>name of your choice>

for instance I have a picture stored on photobucket and under that picture is a 'direct link' which is the URL of the picture. It is http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v51/bob414/Garden%202006/Clematis.jpg

If I type: <a href=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v51/bob414/Garden%202006/Clematis.jpg>; Mrs. Cholmondeley</a>
it will show up as:

{{gwi:1496678}}.

Actually you can access the link to update your profile, Member Page, or trading list from the Member Pages link found at the bottom of every GW page. I am sure this is the wrong place to aske this question, Actually any questions, and just chatter, is to be posted to the (off Topic) Conversation side of the Seed Exchange. The link to Conversations is found just above the list of threads here on the Discussion Side. Kathy, I know nothing about setting up a page so I'm glad you brought it up. Something I've been meaning to do, never get around to. Glad for the info everyone's giving. Is this a webpage that is on your hard drive? Or is it a webpage space provided by a host on a remote computer(remote means a different computer than yours). If the webpage is on your hard drive, i would make a folder under "C" and call it html. Then in the folder put your html document and all related files including pictures. When you open your browser and click file/open and browse to the html folder and click the html document you will see the webpage. The coding should look like this on your webpage if every file related to the page is in html folder. (img src="8loopy.jpg") It is not good to use any caps in file names or extensions with html files. Many webspace hosts do not allow CAPS. Some Unix host puters wont even read caps in file extensions so the picture doesnt show on your webpage. All you get is a blank space with a red X in the corner. If this html file is on a server then you need to put the image in the same folder on the server and use the same coding on the webpage. you CANNOT call for a picture on your computer from your webpage on a host computer. Get a free FTP program and learn how to use it to transfer your files to the webpage space on the host server. JamesS

I don't know if yours is the same, but this is what I found on mine. Follow this path: Start - Control Panel - Internet Options - Advanced tab - Scroll down to Browsing and mine is near the bottom of that group -- check the option for SMOOTH SCROLLING

Glad to help, but I just noticed that </a> doesn't show up after 'name of your choice' on the first line of my post. It must be included to turn off the html code.

Thanks Joy for asking and Bob and Randy for answering. I had tried many times b4 but when it didn't work after a few tries I just gave up.

I can't even figure out how to set up my trade list or my journal or anything else for that matter. Can anyone help me get started? I go to my page and don't know where to start. Is there a link I am missing?

If you click at the bottom of this page where it says "Member Pages" it should take you to where you want to go to edit your exchange list.
