Bathroom tile done! (almost)

Thought I'd share a couple pictures of the bathroom tile, now grouted. With luck the plumber will be here today to start connecting shower and toilet bits, the glass guy is coming to measure this morning and the vanity ... well, who knows. The tile in the vanity area will be finished after the vanity is on site.

I have no idea why the ceiling is showing up that color in the photos, but it's not that color. The plan is to put in a teak floor in the shower, but I'm still working on that. We're also going to put a teak shelf in the niche to divide it.

Still working on the wall color. Healing Aloe is on the walls now and obviously it's way too light so I'm going to give it another crack. The trim on the windows, obviously, isn't painted yet either.

Beautiful tile work! Did you do that yourself, or hire out? I love the glass accent tiles, a little bit of the blue goes a long way- feels very comfortable vs. stark white.
Just curious what tile size is that on the wall? I have some larger tiles that I got on a sale (yeah, I know....) and am not sure if I will use them on my basement remodel or not!
Great job, can't wait to see it finished!

I definitely didn't do it myself. After seeing all the intricate cuts, not to mention how he had to deal with our not-at-all level, square or plumb house, I can't imagine doing it.

The tiles on the wall are 12x24. Our tile guy nicely told me that this was the only bathroom he's ever done where he only used 16 whole tiles in the entire room! Then I handed him a beer to make up for it. :)

Thank you SO much! I am planning predominately black wallpaper and was thinking black ceiling from another bathroom that had been posted here. I keep forgetting to look that bathroom up; I think she listed the black paint color there and I need it. What color black did you use? Your ceiling is black? Were you able to get enough light in there? How did you do it? I wonder if I need the wainscot on the bottom. I hadn't planned for it. But without it I will have a LOT of black. Will it work? My floor will be a light colored wood look vinyl.

I agree with bluekitobsessed - unless you need it for privacy I like the uncovered windows. Otherwise, I agree with you on the bamboo - that would continue the lovely peaceful feel you have created without detracting too much from the simplicity that makes it feel so soothing. I love everything about your room - beautiful job.

Beautiful! That tile is just gorgeous; love the colors and the contrast of the trim with the larger tile. Teak is going to look lovely with them both.

Gorgeous!!!! What is your field tile? We also used a 12x24 white tile in our MB (Porcelanosa). Doesn't it give such a nice clean look?

Plumberry, it's 12x24.

The toilet was installed yesterday. I'm so damn happy. This is the first time in more than eight years that I've lived somewhere with two toilets.

Oops--correction, our Porcelanosa tile is 8x20.... Our floor tile is 12x24 (and it really is neat how few individual tiles one needs when using those big tiles!) :-)
