I believe what happened is that you opened the archive(.rar) and simply got a peek inside the archive. Double-clicking the pic caused it to be extracted to a "temp" directory where it was subsequently opened by your image viewer. It wasn't really hidden, just not "really" extracted. To extract the contents of the entire archive, you can right-click the unopened archive and select "Extract here". Or if you just need a file or two out of the archive, you can open the archive, select the desired file, and extract it. Myself, I would do that by dragging the file out onto my desktop. I'm going by memory, which may not be accurate. Also, I'm thinking of how I would do it with WinRAR. If you're using 7-zip or something built into Win8, then I don't really know. I suspect it would work similarly?

Our posts are 20" wide, 12" thick and 7 1/2' tall. the rise is 12". The width of the arch varies somewhat- I would have to measure, but I think it's around 7 1/2-9'. I think it looks fine. It does really feel like you are inside a room. For the post the 12' thickness is perfect...they could have been wider, maybe 24" but I didn't want to block the view. So far, it's my favorite room in the house! These 3 arches are different widths but it's not really noticable. Especially once I decorate it- one side is going to be the dining side, the other, the living side. The little bump out is an outdoor kitchen. I would maybe center the arch around the french doors. Would that work?

Thanks pps7 - that does make sense. No need to post a picture. That's kind of what I thought, but my tile guy doesn't seem too into doing it that way... I may end up having to use regular bullnose pieces along the edges. Thanks again!

Thank you! I did try a large swatch from Benjamin Moore and the coolness didn't work with my other warm colors. I am happy to say that I did pick a color, Cornice Tan by BM. Painter comes Monday.
