Evonne, LOL, hope your greenhouse is firmly staked down now! And hope that you're wrong about April 1st, because that was the day I got my first sprouts. :) Lots of sproutage yesterday! Phlox drummondi, Baptisia, Eupatorium rugosum and coelestinum, Lobelia cardinalis, and Ratidiba columnifera (Mexican hats). Just 1 or 2 little teeny sprout mostly. Expecting more sproutage today with temps close to 70! PM2, you want some photos...okay here are some photos taken yesterday. There's not too much to see yet, most of the containers have 1 or 2 or 3 little sprouts, and there aren't any "true" leaves yet. Still not quite sure how to get real clear close-ups of such teeny little seedlings (yes I am using the Macro feature). Gaillardia aristata (Blanket Flower), love those "hairy" little sprouts - Silphium perfoliatum (Cup Plant) - most of the containers look like this, but I still think it's so exciting! In the bottom left of the photo, you can actually see a seed, which is much huger than the sprout! Solidago speciosa (Showy Goldenrod) - Sweet Alyssum - 'Carpet of Snow' on left, 'Pastel Carpet' on right - Anybody else got any photos?? :)

Thank you everyone, the news has had me a little down, but he is already recieving calls on his resume (isn't the electronic age something) so hopefully it won't be long. My blood almost boils when I think of it. Everybody wants young people, who will work for half the money (usually do half the work too) On the good news side, we have finally convinced MIL to move closer to us, (very close we will be able to wave to each other from the back porch) She has been living alone out in the country since her husband passed away two years ago. We invited her to live with us, but she didn't want 'to be in the way' (her words not ours). When a little house on the street behind us came available we took her to see it and she is buying it! (she already has a firm contract on her house) So she should be moved in by the end of next month! We are all very excited. She is 74 and we have been very worried about her all alone. Michele I am so excited for you about your greenhouse! you are such a lucky girl, can't wait to see it built! Melissa, what a beautiful home you have! So many windows too! I agree with Tracy, better cover up those ladies, they look very cold! I love forsythia, mine are blooming now lots of yellow sunshine in the garden the daffodils are blooming too! Tracy wow! what a deal on the tile! I have ceramic in the baths and kitchen and I LOVE IT! (it's cold,) but so easy to clean, always looks great! Don't forget to get no skid mats on those tiles! (nothing worse than having the mat slip out from under you when to step out of the tub! well now that I have said hello I feel a little better, we are supposed to have 'weather' wind, rain' all day today. good morning everyone. hope you are staying warm. it's cold here, has been for the last few days and will be the next couple, but certainly not as cold as i hear on the news of other areas or your postings. i might just spend the day doing some baking or making soup - haven't yet decided, but i'm not doing anything until after a good long soak in the tub. how about that plane down in the hudson? amazing the actions of the pilot and the response of all involved in the rescue. thank God it turned out the way it did. remy, i'm so sorry to hear of your friend's passing. what a sacrifice, all the way around, that she made. ashame she didn't ask for help, or even reach out to the pharmacist to front them until she could pay. it is a disgrace how expensive meds are and pharmacuetical companies should be ashamed of their greed. janell, nice to see you. how are you little girls doing? dottie, i used several methods of labeling. if the seeds were in a little plastic baggie, i put the name inside the bag and pushed it down to the side of the container. i used marker in a zillion places on a container until i found my grease pen, then that's what i switched to. i'm at the point this year to just use up all the seeds i have and plant out anything that grows, whether i know the name or not. i have a horrible problem area of of about 50x12 that needs to just be planted like mad, so that's my intention with whatever takes this year. i have plenty of containers in waiting which need attention soon. my grandbabe is adorable. whenever she sees me rinsing out or picking up a container, she asks if we are going to make a garden. gotta love the early on excitement. my son even helped the other day - went through some seeds, suggested they be planted and then taped up the containers and took them out. small help, but help nonetheless. does anyone grow pussy willow? if so, i'd like to arrange a trade for sometime this year. either white or pink, doesn't matter. just let me know. thanks. melissa, how's your little one? ready to post more pix? i keep hinting around - well, actually coming right out with it - about the kids having another one. i thought for a bit it was to be as my DIL was gaining a little belly and such, but was told no, it's just my cooking and the fact that they are actually eating meals every day (something that wasn't always happening when they were on their own). well, time to get moving. i actually went through all the motions of this being sunday and it was not too long ago i realized it's only saturday. be well and stay warm! maryanne GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!color>

When you say "It cuts off in Picassa and Word" do you mean it shuts down entirely? If so I suggest you have a heat problem, how old is the computer and how long since you have had the left side off and cleaned out the dust bunnies? Shut the computer down and remove the left side panel. Now take a look inside and there should be a fan facing you on the motherboard. Are the fins underneath the fan covered in dust and crud? Leave the side off for now and restart the computer, is the fan spinning at an acceptable speed? If not shut down and replace the fan sudden like. If the fan is working now run your Picassa and see how long you can go before it quits again. Let us know what you find so further help can be provided.
