I missed this yesterday. We had new window treatments installed & I just didn't see your post. Drats. But, I'm pulling for you now! And I'll say a prayer for both you & your surgeon.

I had T6/7 surgery. It was ugly. Real ugly. So, I'll spare you the details. Yours will go MUCHO better! At least you know your surgeon has done this sort of thing before...that's more than I had. I had to sign a letter from the doctor/hospital's attorney saying that I realized nobody had any experience with my surgery...gave me LOTS of confidence.

By next week you'll be a drill sargeant from your chaise lounge! Hope you won't need one of the collars. But even if you do...it's better than the pain & loss of function you've been dealing with, right? I know several people who've had similar surgeries & all are so glad to have that pain gone.

That must have been one whale of a party...I see 2 bottles of crown royal one of Kaluaha, vodka, champagne and various red and white wines!
And Karen you can participate in such a party when you get off the hard drugs!

Hope all went well today. Please tell your doctors that your friends here at the CF aren't interested in whether or not you can pick up a newspaper these first two weeks, all we want to know is if you will be able to use your mouse these next two weeks so that you can stay in touch with us on your computer. Gosh, we'd miss you if he wouldn't let you use that for two weeks! Get well soon.

It's not as bad as I thought it would be. LOL! Not good but bearable with pain meds. My shoulder feels so much better :-)

Happy New Year Karen! Glad you are home and posting. Just keep taking the pain pills til the worst part of the pain is over, after a few days you can wean yourself off. Then plain ol Tylenol or Advil will do the trick.

After that, you're good to go! You can do the Hokey Pokey!!

Karen, it takes 2-3 days for the anethesia to completely get out of your system. Plus, you're taking the meds. Don't overdo! Relax & enjoy being waited on for awhile.
