Completing a form that is a PDF

Is there a Free download that will enable a user to complete a form that is a PDF? I seem to remember having some sort of PDF converter (free) that did that, but I can't see it in my programs now.

Rather than using the risky CNet website, I'd recommend downloading PDF Exchange-Viewer directly from their own site...

Instead of scanning the form as a .pdf, scan it as a .rtf (RICH TEXT FORMAT). You should be able to select this under SCAN DOCUMENT SETTINGS. Then open the .rtf file with your word processor and edit as needed. After editing, save it as a .doc if you wish and then print-fax-email as needed or you can convert to .pdf if needed by using a free online pdf converter.

I agree 100% with Gene. Also, AR deeply configures into the system. If a user does decide to remove AR, I recommend the use of REVO set to Advanced Mode. When asked for permission to remove orphan folders, files and registry entries permission should be granted. A follow up with CCleaner's registry tool is a good idea too. On the CC report only select the entries known to be relating to AR. NO guessing and use the offered backup. DA

Lets in stall Adobe reader. See link below First on that webpage Put your mouse over the check mark on the optional offer. Click to un-check it, you don't need that. Then click in the lower right yellow Install now, that should download it to the desktop or your downloads folder, then double click it to install Adobe. yes I prefer PDFxchange it has been hit less by many of the vulnerbilities that hit adobe and foxit, another good option is sumatra. Downloads that is pdf xchange viewer you want the first one in the list you can choose the zip installer which you would then unzip or the exe installer you double click on to install, the exe may be easier if you are not familiar with zip files. I have used CNET for many yrs. and still do never had a problem. When doing any downloads read, and opt out of any addons.

CNET is owned by CBS. It's a completely legit site, but it allows its customers to bundle unrequested and often unwanted other types of software to accompany a requested download.

I agree with both preceding comments, you can pick up hitchhikers and setting changes you might not want if you're not careful. (That can happen with many straight downloads too. Apple tries to take over your PC when you download Itunes). You can also avoid any undesired outcomes if you click carefully and opt out of most choices you're given.

Is it a static form? Is there a feild for you type into, or just a line, as if someone scanned a document?

I use Foxit Reader. If I needed to fill out such a document I'd choose the typewriter tool (Comments>Typewriter>Typewriter). Click where you want to type, then type. It can then be printed. If you need it in electronic format, there are "virtual printers" that will output it as a PDF again, with your changes. I use one called doPDF. All free software.

I was under the impression that a .PDF file needed to "created" as a form to be used as a form. Or do one of these programs allow changing the actual structure of the document?

If you just want to "fill in the blanks" Acrobat reader will do that. Just click on "comment" in the upper right portion of the screen and a number of editing tools are available.
