Mere, glad to read the good news. I know you have to be stressed about the whole situation, how could you not be? I doubt you are the 1st to need a cool cloth; anyone having to have a biopsy would be stressed. I would think that anyone with a family history; well all the more stress. To go in for a procedure to see if it registers the "big C" well that in itself would make anyone puke. Now that I can put off the actual surgery I probably will till after that. It depends on what all it involves and recuperation, really. It can't be much, so we'll see. Did you ever get to check out the cure magazine site? I wonder if you have other options. I remember reading about one breast cancer study where they were given a drug that worked. Might be worth the time to look into. The article would have been from the time dad was sick - July 2005 to January 2006. I seem to remember it as a fall issue - so Fall 2005. I might still have it but it's packed in a rubbermade with dad's stuff.

I am able to print an email on my new pc; the problem seems confined to Word documents. Word documents print fine on my old XP. It doesn't have the XPS Document Writer listed in Printers.

"Shut down" any program means to make that window active and then click the x at the upper right hand margin. Then shut down your PC, start it up again once it's fully off, and restart Word. I think what you're experiencing is sometimes when you open a file that has settings that are different from your own personal defaults, they stay active until you open one of the preset templates that have been established for your own Word installation. I'm a Word novice, and I could be using the wrong words, but if you go out and come back in again, I think you're find it back it's gone back to "normal".

Most likely the problem you're having with Preview, is that you've enlarged the pdf so large that parts of it are now on new pages - pg2, pg3, etc - which is why it doesn't look right. But since it doesn't look right, then you can decide not to print and try a diff scale - saving some ink and paper. I don't think you can enlarge the text separate from the whole page - like in a word processing program - it all enlarges as a whole. The trick is to enlarge/zoom as much as possible, but still have it print on to one page. I don't know what pdf viewer you're using. But with Foxit Reader that I'm using, there is a "Snapshot" function on the Home tab, where you can outline a selection of the pdf, and print just that. But that's probably not a great solution either, although it's an easier way to do your print screen idea. Also . . . There is the print dialog box that pops up upon Print, and then on that dialog box, there is the printer's own driver dialog box that you get when you click "Properties" next to the selected printer (up at the top). Some of those Properties have features where you can print as a poster, banner, etc., but that would probably be unwieldy and take a lot of experimentation. The idea would be to try and print a page of a pdf - but enlarged, and over a number of pages in some kind of orderly fashion.
