Need A Free Program

A while back I picked up a Trojan. I took the computer to the fix-it guy. He cleaned it up, but he had to nearly wipe out the entire system. Thankfully, he was able to save my pictures.

I have reloaded the obvious (to me) programs, but I do not know what program I need so that I can burn a disc. I was able to do it before the Trojan. Now when I try to do it, I get a message that the task cannot be completed. I know I'm missing a program, but don't know what.

Is there a free something on the web that I can download?

What operating system does the computer have?
What anti virus are you running? Is it up to date?
What anti malware programs are you using? Are they up to date and when did you last run a scan?

If you have XP you should have no difficulty burning a CD but will need third party software to burn a DVD

I would also not use the fix-it guy again. He should have been able to remove the Trojan without mucking around with your software so much.

Are you on Mac or Windows? I use iPhoto for almost of my editing - it does just about everything that needs doing: cropping, levels, effects, etc. Also what kind of camera are you using? My Nikon Coolpix can do a number of those things right in the camera. Oh hhah - just noticed the date of the OP - imagine the class is over now... First off lets get one thing perfectly clear I have NEVER claimed to be the ONLY person here HELPING, how absurd. I volunteer on numerous wonderful support/help forums with a multitude of absolutely wonderful knowledgeable people this one included. I never advise anyone to do or use something that I would not use myself and that will NOT change. And any time I see one recommended that I know has some problem I WILL with out doubt provide that info so that any person considering it will have full info to make an informed decision on that program themselves, with full knowledge. And I appreciate it when someone who knows something negative about a programs speaks up and provides that info, it is how we learn. IObit has been found guilty of several thefts of program material over the years this theft of malwarebytes is just one more. NOT the kind of people I want to entrust ANY ones pc to. Try reading the info provided about IOBit. I never mentioned you anywhere in my post, I simply referred to the program,(which I would have done no matter who posted about it, and have done in the past) no idea why on Earth you felt the need to slam me, but I am not the only one here you have done it to, it really does not surprise me. If all you are worried about is crash and losing files... hard to beat dropBox for something like that. Don't need to do anything,, its like magic. Files on your your hard drive folder,, with no effort there will be a copy in your online dropbox with same folder name automatically. Delete a file from your folder, it deletes from dropbox ... but.. you can view and restore deletes at dropbox for a few days. Crash your hard drive completely, reinstall windows fresh and install the dropbox program.. the real magic quietly happens.. suddenly those folders and files all up to the minute/date in real time from when you crashed,,, reappear on your computer. Any computer you install dropbox on will have the same files on it too... as long as you use the same account/login/password. Gee yarnlover, it looks like you are getting advice on the Trojan and not getting your question answered.

I've always liked Nero for burning CDs/DVDs and two freeware versions are currently available. Version 9 supports Windows XP, Vista, and 7. There is also a freeware version 10 for Windows 7. I've linked the v9 download below.
