Craigs list reply help

Before I had a computer guy clean up my computer I was able get responses from the seller. I am wondering if he changed a security setting. He added fire fox and I am wondering if that is what is. I don't know what or how to check. Thanks for any help.

aren't you just using your email to respond back and forth? if so firefox would have no effect on your email.
when I respond to craigslist it goes right to my email.

I reply to the post from seller at craigs list.org. I never get a reply to anything I inquire about even if it's just been posted. I check my spam and there is nothing. Hummm I don't know. Debbie

My experience posting real estate on CL was: 1) Got 95% of inquiries (calls, emails) within 36 hours of posting the ad. 2) I learned to repost every few days to get more interest and each time I reposted that calls/emails would revive. I would delete the prior post and then create a new one. 3) Always post several photos 4) Put your location and price on subject line plus top selling feature if it fits (such as waterfront or 5 acres or 1 year old or top school district) 5) Dont have to specifiy FSBO in the subject line and don't have to make it the 1st few sentences of an ad either. Just focus on marketing the property and don't have to put FSBO front and center. Dont hide it, but don't make it more important that the home and price and location and top selling features of the property.

There are indeed some great deals on Craiglist. I visit there nearly every day just to keep an eye out for materials I need. Like any source though, there are some people who are just out to take advantage, so you have to take the same care you would with any contractor or supplier. Check references, check BBB and the Contractor's License Bureau in your area and don't give them deposits beyond the normal amounts.

Are you logging into your account with Craigslist? I have found that if I forget to log in, it still will allow me to create a post, but will not actually post it and send me an email instead. If I first log in, then create my post it will post automatically, though it may take 30 mins. or so to show up. To log in select "my account" on the leftmost side of the screen. After you are logged in you can see a list of all of your ads which you have posted and the status. Then to post, you select the "go" box on the upper right corner. HTH!

Update: the dresser/buffet was finally sold tonight! (a/k/a chest, credenza, flat screen TV stand, LOL!) Thanks for all the suggestions. I appreciate the time people took to be of assistance. I learned a lot, and will save these ideas for the future. Thanks especially to dilly_dally for her many good ideas. It really helped. It took almost 3 weeks to sell the dresser. Im not sure if thats typical or not. It sold after I re-titled it as a campaign chest. (Yes!) From my first to third posting I lowered the price from $425 to $275. But I was happy with what I got in the end. I had overpriced it originally figuring I would be bargained down. With both that and the table that sold a little faster, they paid the reduced price listed in the second (or third) ad and did not ask for a further reduction. Each was sold to the one and only person who came to look at it. Not sure if thats typical either. I had sent pictures to the local consignment shop as a backup, she said she would price it at $450, but I would have gotten half of that, and would have had to pay $50 to have it moved there. I sold the dresser/buffet just in time; I have just enough time to get the carpets shampooed before I go Saturday to pick up the CL dining room set that I paid a deposit on in December! I couldnt see bringing that in until I moved out my old stuff. Thanks again!

try this instead, copy the actual email address that is listed for the ad on craigslist into your to box on your actual email and then type in your question, reply etc as a regular email and send it that way, it sounds like your email is not set up as the default possibly for your browsers?

I've had the same thing in the last couple weeks to several postings on craigslist, no reply to my email.
If the message is sent and doesn't come back, you know the poster got your message.
I'm beginning to think that these people actually have nothing for sale and are harvesting email addresses from responders.
Then there's the other side with flakes.
I put up for free a 46" TV.
Had 8 responses in 10 minutes, so deleted the add.
The first 2 people I made contact with said they'd be here with in the hour, both flaked on me as no shows.
The third person I contacted replied with spam.
Finally the fourth person showed up with his friend and took it.
They told me they were trying to see how much free stuff they could collect on craigslist, for what, I don't know.

there are definitely scams out there I was looking a while back for netbooks and found one listed in my area for a super price, I respond to their ad and they come back with oh sorry we happen to be out of state right now but if you send us a money order or cashiers check we will ship it to you as soon as we get your money... UM well gee let me think about that NO. I sent a response to them from a different email address and got the exact same canned response. Do people really fall for that? I guess some do unfortunately.

All my buys from craigslist have been face to face in person so I can try out the item and pay cash. But I have not had any problem getting my email to them or getting responses when I do the copy and paste directly to my email.

I think there is a link somewhere I have seen on craigslist for if you are having those kinds of problems check around for one.

I copied the CL e-mail into my outlook and it works that way.
I will use it that way. Thanks for the replies.
