what caused this?

now this really frosted my buns yesterday and i was ready to buy a new pc, i wasted several hours trying to fix and research this. i booted the pc, restarted the pc, changed settings, to no avail. this has happened before but i have no idea how it was fixed. based upon yesterdays resolution i see why i can't recall the fix!

here's the problem - i launched outlook express and a window pops up after oe loads. it is the DREADED you can't send or receive email because -

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'tjg911', Server: >'authsmtp.netzero.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket >Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

and so i start looking at the pop and smtp crap, something i don't understand. i was at netzero's help site (i had internet access just can't send recv email). i finally send an email thru nz help area asking what's the fix.

while waiting for a reply, the window disappears. nz help never gave a good reason for this all they said was

"The reason you received this error may be due to some software conflicts.".

swell, like that tells me something!

Basically what it means is the connection to the server has failed. In other words, Outlook Express failed to connect to a SMTP Port using Netzero.
If everything is working ok now, forget about it, just a fluke.

I know what a joke.
I mean if you really want to know what happened, read this but I wouldn't waste my time if it's ok now and you can send and receive email with outlook.

I have satellite ISP and I get the same message sometimes. It's not anything about you or your computer; it's the mail server. It's a pain in the a**, but really nothing you can do.

Instead of a flower bud at the top of a mature rose cane, there is a growth that looks like empty wheat husks. This can occur with nearly all varieties but some roses are particularly prone to making blind shoots ie Peace. Frost damage, lack of nutrients, shortage of light and tiny midges are a few of the main reasons. If you cut the cane back to about half to a healthy bud it will produce a shoot which will flower.

Shuffles, I generally plant my pole beans on the East side of the garden now, where they are sheltered by trellises of other things. For the most part, that eliminates the wind bruising, unless a strong thunderstorm goes through. Shell beans or limas go on the West side, since bruising is not an issue for them. I've had good luck planting pole beans adjacent to the South wall of a structure too; but in my latitude, that location is best used for yardlong beans, due to the extra reflected heat. Probably not a good idea to plant beans there - in your neck of the woods - for the same reason.

This is almost a month old, and I wonder what's happening now? Unfortunately, it's pretty blurry and hard to make out any details. Might be an old injury from an insect or bird, etc., or a disease.

It looks like etching that happens with marble (when a glass is left on the counter - typically an entire circle isn't etched - instead there is a half of a circle like in the above photo). Maybe it is an oil stain or something else was left on the counter for awhile which caused the issue - however, I didn't think that happened with quartz either. I don't have quartz countertops - I know that they can be damaged - however, I thought it was difficult to do (except maybe due to heat). How long have you had the countertops? If they've been installed recently, I my guess would be that the mark is related to the installer handles that are used to carry the quartz into the house to be installed (I'm sure that there is a technical term for them). There are various ways to try to remove the mark (start with gentle and then move to options that are used to remove tougher marks). I've heard that many people use Simple Green to remove marks and then move onto Barkeeper's Friend (liquid) or acetone/rubbing alcohol.
