You sound like you are running with just about the same things as me. I have Windows XP, FireFox and an Internet Explorer which I never use so I don't know what version it is. Cookies are enabled. I use Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, SUPERAntiSpyware, and ATF-Cleaner. I also have use of Microsoft Messenger. I belong to a lot of Yahoo groups which were having problems a week or so ago - but not now. The blame for the users' problems was being laid at Yahoo's door - but I don't know the reason for e-mails not getting through, etc.

I have McAfee on one of my xp boxes because it is free with my verizon but I am in the process of changing to one of the free ones too just because I need to thin down that machine and McAfee is too large. I am going with Avast this time, the new AVG 8 has had a lot of issues so want to wait on that one till they get it all worked out. Avast is a very good program and many people moved to it that left AVG. If you go to the Avast link for download you can look over on the left they have 2 very good informative pdf manuals that give detailed install and use directions. avast! 4 Home Edition it is free but you do have to do a registration which is very simple and explained on the site.

Thanks to your Perserverence and Determination, my Firefox has the moderating abilities once again. Zep, I re-installed Version 6-7 and it is working. This was my version I had on the machine previously. So unfortunately any updates will be ignored for a while. Have a very Merry Christmas and relaxing holidayZep, Ravencajun and other professionals. Or maybe you don't access your account as often and just missed the window of downtime. Its problems are way more often this last week than other times. It's acting up right now. Try the link I have farther up the thread, and you'll see how large a chunk of time it's been misbehaving today. It's a moving graph so it won't show you Monday, for instance. not right this moment for me, but it was earlier and it absolutely was on Monday. Or maybe I only hit it when it wasn't working. Either way, I think you're dismissing things you shouldn't dismiss. Yahoo is having trouble right now. It'd be nice if it worked every time one opened their mail. Which is what one would expect from a mail provider. I've been with them for a very long time. It's my only email provider outside of work. I won't change. But to say it's smooth sailing, what's wrong with you? just shows you're either A) lucky, B) don't access it as often as others, or C) are oblivious(?).
