finally announce that I got a job!!! I have been off work since February, and actively seeking work since the first of June. Michigan has the highest unemployment rate in the nation, so jobs are not easy to come by. I have made it through second interviews only to come in second to much younger people. However, Friday I got a call from a private (very expensive) private college, and I am starting full time next week!!! Yes! Finally! (I ended up interviewing with 15 people, in 4 different sessions for the second interview.

Sherry (who is breathing a sigh of relief since unemployment runs out in December, and the unemployment coffers in Michigan are drying up anyway).

deborah there's another way for you to skin that cat and get the music you love - Pandora. It won't get you any of the 'radio' talk but you can custom fit your music to your tastes. I love it and create varying 'stations' so I always have something to fit my mood. It's also a great way to discover artists that you otherwise might not hear. In addition to the new-to-me things placed in my queue, I regularly check out who else listens to my stations and what else THEY listen to. Kind of like going through the book lists at Amazon. I usually have it on any time I'm on the computer - right now I'm listening to DeVotchKa - my oldest son turned me on to them but it is an acquired taste ;-) And you can take Pandora with you in the car Here is a link that might be useful: Pandora Radio

Well, my story is sort of complicated. I had a horrible case of influenza and pneumonia back in l995. Then I was on antibiotics for 2 months. I don't know if the antibiotics did me in, or it was the flu/pneumonia, but shortly after that, I developed fibromyalgia and also started going through menopause. I also developed irritable bowel syndrome, GERD and sleep apnea. Its hard to sort it all out, but something seems to cause all of this stuff in me. Are you bowels acting the same? Do you suddenly feel extremely full after eating? Are you on any other meds? When my GI problems were their worst, I was put on a PPI (proton pump inhibitor). That helped the symptoms for awhile. Pepsid (an H2 blocker) does absolutely nothing for me, so you might ask your doc for a prescription for a PPI......oh wait....I think prilosec is otc now. You could buy that and try it. Don't lose hope yet. This might just be a temporary thing you're going through. There is a Ph.D. guy who was on the GERD forum for awhile who wrote a book on how carbohydrates cause alot of GI problems. He believes our systems aren't designed to eat all these carbs and they can't be digested quickly and they ferment, and that causes alot of gas/reflux, etc. So I think you'd do well to lower your carb consumption. The stress echo I had went like this: You go in, and they put you on a heart monitor, and then you get on a treadmill, and they slowly increase the speed and incline, until you reach your target heartrate. Then you immediately lay down and they do an echocardiogram on your heart. It doesn't hurt at all. If they want you to have a nuclear med stress echo, then you will have to have a contrast medium injected into your vein.......but most stress echoes are the first type I talked about. It shows if all your heart muscle and valves are working right. what kind of doctor are you seeing? Once they rule out a heart problem (which I'm sure they will), then I would suggest seeing a good gastroenterologist. I think for some of us, as we age, our parts just don't work as well, and we can't abuse them like we used to. I know that my GI tract does fine, until I start eating too much, and then it starts to fail. You might be able to take care of this problem, just by changing your eating habits. I know how hard that can be! I've struggled with it my whole life. Its much better for me than it used to be, but I think that's because my hormones finally settled down. Men have hormones too, and sometimes they get wacky. I actually think my strange chest sensations are a combination of my GERD and my IBS.

Wow, that looks great together. But why does it work? Both the B/S and counter have a lot of personality. Yet they are neutral in tone. The light/dark contrast between the two gives the combination a lot of punch. Seeing your samples, I thought it might be "too much," but good you trusted your instincts (or you were just in lust with it, sometimes that works, but not always!) Now it looks to me like the variation in the small tiles sort of mimics the variation in the light streaks of the gneiss. There are similar size pieces as well as the color being close. Is that part of what's tying it together? Would love to hear why others think this is working here. It would be easy to be "close, but off" when combining this or a similar stone with a mosaic of any kind. It risks looking like striped pants with a plain shirt, if you know what I mean.

thanks CB and Jannie.I am going to call and ask someone.Thanks both of you posting here counting the time I will be able to hold him/her.I am praying for a Healthy baby,so is ashley and jason.When Ashley was born she stayed 10 days in ICU because she had a bowel movement inside me and she got it in her lungs,they have a name for this and I can not think what it is called.Than it got me infected and I had a HIgh fever,Had to come home without her and that was so so sad.I never got to hold her in the hospital,but she turned out good.They had told me and greg she might be retarded because not only that she started having seizures.But she is a very smart young lady still loving animals and working at Petsmart as a dog groomer,and she makes very good money.They sent her to school,and has been there every since it open.We are so proud of her,/judy

Sherry, I am so happy for you! Working at a college is fun. I used to work for one and I really enjoyed the interesting people and the students, who are so funny and smart.

Well, I will be running the fundraising office for the college. As Ellen knows, fundraising is my passion, and I love organization (although I am not as expert as mustangs is), so to get paid to do what I love is pretty cool. The school has great benefits, and I have already received 4 welcome e-mails from some of the people who work there. That really impresses me. The drive is 37 minutes. I am not crazy about that, but I go to Kalamazoo all the time anyway, and my two littlest grandbabies live only 12 minutes away from my work, so it won't be too bad at all.
I still will teach classes at the junior college at night, so I will get to do a lot of things that I love.
Thank you for all your support. Now everybody can breathe a sigh of relief that I won't be whining anymore about unemployment!
