I tried every suggestion in this post and nothing worked for me. I live in New Hampshire and it makes sense stains will be different depending on where you live. Finally, I found the solution ...a pumice stone. There are several brands available online. I found this one in my local grocery and hardware store, and it's pretty inexpensive. Just use with water ..it didn't take a lot of muscle....just a little patience but it worked beautifully. I had gone so far as to get a quote for replacement shower doors and stumbled on this product just before I was ready to place the order. So glad I tried it because new doors were more than $800. Just wanted to share in case it helps someone else!

Yes it is impervious to stains if it has been sealed correctly, though your issue is that hard water contains an amount of TDS or total dissolved salts, which are normally calcium and magnesium. The last being the hardest to remove. Water that is hard will evaporate leaving the salt deposit on the surface, not dissimilar to exacting salt from salt water. So I had done some re-plumbing on my house and installed a water softener loop at the time - meaning it was mostly ready to go. The unit sits on the floor. Many people useflex lines with sharkbite fittings to connect them to make the installation easier. I'm not a huge fan of that... but it does simplify things a lot. You may need some drain hose as well. Look at the photos and read the reviews to see some of the installs on Amazon. There is a photo of my install on there - but know that my install was part of a complete re-do, so don't use that as an example. There are lots of youtube videos on it including putting in the correct settings on the Fleck valve.
