solitaire question

On my new computer I have microsoft office 2010 and they do not have the solitaire game my husband liked from my old computer.
Is there any way I can get it on here.
Old computer was win XP. I believe I had the game since 1997 or 98

If you still have your old comp or access to one like it you can do the following procedure. I copied this off some site after Googling the question and it worked for me.

I found downloading solitaire from the internet led to bad infections as well as not being equivalent to the XP game(s). This way is safe and you get exactly what you previously had.

For users with Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional, or Enterprise, you can installXP Mode and use the games.
While most users are enjoying the Windows 7 experience and all the new features and abilities it has there are some that prefer the look of the games from Windows XP.While the functionality and game play has not changed the look has.For those of you that prefer the style of the XP versions of the Windows games on your Windows 7 PC, here are instructions to help you getting the XP versions up and running.

**You need to have a valid copy of Windows XP**

In Windows XP, use Windows explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32.**Note that the Windows folder and System 32 folder will hide the contents of the folder by default.This is because there are system files in these locations and you should take care when navigating in these folders.** Copy the following files to a USB memory stick, or CD (whatever means you have to move files):
cards.dll
freecell.exe
mshearts.exe
sol.exe
spider.chm
spider.exe
spider.hlp
winmine.exe
Then on your Windows 7 PC, create a folder (do not put it in the Windows\system32 folder) and paste those files into the folder.Now you can either open the folder and launch games from there, or create shortcuts to the games and place them on your desktop.
For the Pinball game, it has its own folder located at C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Pinball.You can copy the entire Pinball folder and then move it to your Windows 7 PC.**Do not put it in the C:\Program Files\Windows NT folder.**You should put it in the same folder with the card games (if you moved some of those).

Thank you but I do not have access to my old computer but I do have the hard drive
. Would the info above be on my hard drive.
If yes, then I can go to a computer store and have them put this on a flash drive for me.

Okay, while looking at my palms yesterday, again, which I tend to do every day, but that's beside the point, am I rambling? Oops, but anyways, something just hit me that was so obvious but I never really applied it to my pygmies. "Palms grow from the center. Duh." So looking at them with that thought in my mind there were some very thin 'branches' as I kept thinking of them previously. But... "Palms don't have branches. Duh." So with Denninmi's words about suckers still echoing my head, I stooped down and grabbed the thinnest, youngest 'branch' and pulled. Next thing I knew, I was holding a young palm in my hands with what looked like three fully intact tap roots still attached. So I moved to the next largest and, taking a tad more effort, I had another young palm, again with three tap roots. And no obvious signs of real breakage. After all was said and done, I ended up with five young palms with intact tap roots. One has been potted and the other four are being temporarily housed in a large planter until I can get them their own pots or figure out where to plant them. I don't know why, but considering the condition of the tap roots I'm feeling fairly optimistic about these little guys making it. That said, I took a picture of the last one that I pulled so that the experts can rain on my parade: There are still three much larger trunks left in each of the planted palms.

Errrr sorry but I'm one of the high scorers. Twice I have gotten 39,400 and most times I get 19,500 If you make it to 20,000 then you get a second game to add to your score. I just quickly glance at the bottom line to figure out whether I'm going up or down with the next card and then keep checking to the rows above to see what I want to choose in the first row to make them available. I love the game but you really need to remember to go up and down with the numbers like this king, ace, two, three, three two, ace king. The up and down sequences happen frequently so be aware of that. It's those combinations that get you the high scores.

mudlady- You're sort of comparing apples to oranges. A Kindle Fire OS is much simpler and more limited in function than a PC's OS. You should simply buy the newest Kindle Fire and not worry. I suspect the device will fail physically before you have to worry about the OS being a problem. Amazon wants the Kindle Fire to work well for years to come: they don't want to alienate their ebook-buying customer base by introducing incompatibilities with new models. Finally, in all fairness to Microsoft, their ending of support for XP was no secret. They did maintain it for 12 years and warned people years before about the fact that support would be ending, and they even had three successor systems in release before they did end XP support. I have an old tablet that came with the latest OS available at the time -- XP -- and it's still functional. Just because support ended for that OS doesn't mean the software quits working. The best strategy is to buy current technology with the most current OS and use it. You may want something new in 10 years, but I don't think there is cause for alarm that an HDX 7 will suddenly turn into a lemon.

As has been adequately driven home here, aspen is a colonial species (whether quaking or bigtooth aspen) and each individual stem or ramet is but one part of a larger organism. While I may not plant aspens in my smallish city yard, where space permits, they are beautiful trees, if a bit temporary. In nature, aspens are early-succession species which set the table-so to speak-for successive waves of other tree types. In your yard, perhaps you can somewhat mimic this process by perhaps planting young fir or spruce trees in the midst of the aspens. Aspen produces light shade which is the ideal situation for what amounts to a tree nursery for later tree types. Look into it-you may just discover a world of wonder. Or maybe not!
