Pictures in Photo Gallery or 'Pictures'

My OS is Vista Home Premium. When I import pictures from my camera they go into Photo Gallery. I don't know how, but I'm able to get some of them into my Pictures folder. I am wanting to download a picture or video to Photobucket but I can't find the pictures in Photo Gallery, just in Pictures folder. How can I get them accessible to add to Photo bucket?

The Photo Gallery is just a viewing tool. All of the pictures are in your Pictures folder, unless you specifically put them in another folder. If you see something in the Gallery that you can't find in Pictures...you probably haven't looked hard enough. Sounds like you need to spend some time organizing your pics/folders so you know what is stored where. After that, it should be easy enough to select the proper folder and UPLOAD your pics to Photobucket. It also sounds like you need a proper imageviewer so you can look at the contents of any folder quickly. I'd suggest Irfanview.

when in photobucket using the upload option you can select to upload from a folder on your computer, open the browse box and navigate to the pictures folder on your pc then select the picture you want and click the button to select it. you should then see it uploading to photobucket.

-natalie, I can probably give you some help with that if you want ;-) The first thing you need to do is copy the code (it is the gibberish located in the box at the top of your screen) OF THE PAGE YOU WANT TO LINK TO. This is what the code looks like of your post on the gallery side: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/cottage/gal1208141825883.html?4 When you are typing a message here on GW you will notice two boxes below the box you use to write your message. See them? They say "Optional Link URL" and "Name of the Link". Paste your code/link inside the "Optional Link URL" box and type the name of what you are linking to or want to say (like jkom's link said 'Natalie's lovely garden and kitty!') in the "Name of the Link" box. When you hit "Preview Message" your link should appear below highlighted in blue. You can test out your link there and then hit the back button to get back to your message. Then hit submit and you are all done ;-) There is also another way of linking where you can make links within your text (the message). It is great if you want to do multiple links, but is a bit more difficult. Let me know if you are interested in learning about that method sometime and I would be happy to show you. You can use this thread to practice if you like. If you run into any problems I can help (can even shoot me an email if you need to). It is super simple once you get the hang of it! ;-) CMK

Wow Bossy -- you hit the nail on the head. The plant you linked to has a little more wave than mine, but I guess that is something they do under certain conditions, or certain clones. A few of the google photos show that form, but most do not. From the internet: " Agave salmiana 'Green Goblet' is a Yucca Do selection T43-29 that was discovered in Mexico near the Sierra Chiquita Mountains. All of the Agave salmiana var. ferox in this population were blue except this clone, which displayed dark green leaves with a blue dusting at the leaf base. This 4' tall x 8' wide clump has performed extremely well in our climate to the single digits...good winter drainage is important." Hi Oceanna, I am sure there are more than just the posters, the lurkers too, who soooo appreciate the time you take to post to the gallery. Before my computer stopped allowing me to see the gallery pics, I always went straight to those when in need of a new idea or inspiration. Like you, I'd go browse hours if I was in need of something different on my fireplace mantel or a different look for my coffee table. I was always able to find something in the gallery as opposed to my decor mags that are now filled with nothing but ads and very little detail decor. "Who's holding back on a stash of their own?" I emailed you when I was no longer able to get into the gallery to view pics or to post them. Although they are not a stash of my own home, the link I sent you had pics that could be interesting to some who are into different painting techniques. Don't know if you ever checked that email addy of yours but I was trying to contribute, honest, really I was! *s* Can't contribute with my own pics because there is not a single room in my home that is completed. Working on it daily but have a long way to go.

I am in the process of trying to figure out a gallery wall myself. I was inspired by a photo in PB that has a gallery over a long table. I started by picking pics of my kids that I love! They are almost grown now, but there a few pics that I love from when each were little. I scanned them and printed them in black and white and sepia tones and placed in black frames from Target. I also will frame a large silhouette of one of my kids that they created in elementary school. It's big so I hope I can find a frame that looks right. I also found a large pencil drawing of my mother from the seventies and another pencil sketch of a dog my dad did when he was seventeen. He was quite artistic! I'm hoping the black/white/sepia theme all with white mats and black frames will give a cohesive look. I plan on hanging them on a large wall in our FR.My picture frames range from 16x20 to 4x6. I haven't hung them yet, but I am excited I have finally started the process!

When you have your Photo Gallery open, also open 'Your Pics' and open the album you want to upload them to.
Drag the pic from the Gallery, and drop it into the folder in My Pics.

Be sure to then Close My Pics, and open Photobucket.

Then when you go to upload from Photobucket, you will find the pic is in My Pics and will upload fine.

Azinoh, yes, I have a mess. I guess when I opt to download pics from my camera in has been automatically putting them in the Photo Gallery and they are not easily accessible when I want to pull a pic from Pictures. I don't know how to get them organized. I guess this means I have duplicates on my hard drive too?

Windows photo gallery has some very nice features. Learning to use them properly will make organizing your pictures much easier and you should not end up with duplicates on your computer.
