are you sure you only got the critical updates? because usually net framework are not listed in critical only in regular updates. You can disable the infocard in services. What were you having to allow through your firewall??

Mouse click on the START button at the bottom left corner of the desktop (main window).

I know I have nothing in my windows updates as critical updates for anything like that and darn sure nothing that would take 3 hours.
Did you get this from windows auto update or did you actually go to the windows update website and have it scan your pc and install? if so did you choose custom so it only gave you just critical updates only?

I went into critical first only sp3 so then looked in custom that is where I clicked to download the 3 things in there, I know now big mistake, but the "comodo firewall" pops up every second seems like asking if I will "allow",
I believe I should uninstall it have never really understood what all it does also have "comodo BOClean" I have Avast, Superantispyware,Spywareblaster is there anything else I need? Believe I am in trouble here with too much stuff also have CCleaner, I know Norton & McAfee are not recomended but I will pay for something that is less hassle. My guy I used to have come check this thing out about once a month moved.

well see the point of having a firewall is to see what is asking for permission to access the internet, you want to be able to Stop any type of virus or spyware that is on your pc from being able to phone home or get to the internet so you do not want to simply click on allow when the firewall asks. If you do not know what it is that is asking then say NO. IF it was something you needed then you will see that it dose not work and then you know to have that work you must say yes allow but that is how you and the firewall both learn. Never just blindly say yes allow if you do not know what is asking. Things you want to allow would be your browser IE or firefox, your antivirus updater, any of your programs that you have on your pc and know what they are and what they do, like your media player, your antispyware programs will need to access to get updates, those programs when they pop up asking for permission and you know they are good legit programs check mark the box that tells it to remember so that next time it will not have to ask you it will remember. Never ever give anything server rights if it pops up and asks click no then normally it will pop up and say do you want to allow it to access the internet to that one you can say yes if you know what it is.
Some firewalls are easier than others I prefer zonealarm and they do have a free version you can get, you might like it better than comodo but you want to only run one.

To find out what you installed during a MS update you can go to the MS update website and let it scan your pc then over on the left side pane you can click on your history there it should provide a list of exactly what you have been downloading and installing on your pc from windows update, I would do that to see what it was first of all that installed on that date take note of the KB numbers.
Doing a system restore is super easy to do should you ever need to do one. And when you do MS updates it will automatically create a new restore point so you can go in and find that restore point and simply choose to go back to that point in time before you added what ever to your system. That would be one option.
XP System Restore
that is a very simple guide to using system restore.

IF you knew the exact numbers of the updates you did you could possibly go remove them from add remove, if going to the windows update history area tells you that then you can try going into your add remove area and look for those specific ones and remove them if you choose to, or do system restore to the restore point that was created right prior to that update should take care of removing it. Those are 2 options.

The programs you listed are all excellent programs as long as you remember to open them update them and run the scans or enable their protection.

Are you absolutely certain you did not install sp3? to make sure go to start>control panel> double click system and look there to see what it says does is say xp sp2 or xp sp3. If by any chance it does say sp3 then you do not want to do a system restore, because you would want to keep sp3.

So I guess the Comodo Firewall was just doing its job it was saying it was safe to download the upgrades just took so long another lesson learned am sure I have stuff in the computer I do not need, will check the "System Restore" thing out now.

gillian I know what you mean by clicking 100 times. I had issues with Zone Alarm when the newest version first came out and switched to Comodo. Even after putting it in what they call installation mode there was endless clicking. I'm sure it is very good at protecting your computer but after a couple of weeks of endless clicking I went back to Zone Alarm and have not had issues with it since.

that is one of the most common complaints about comodo, that it is not nearly as user friendly, which is why I usually steer people more to the zonealarm free, because it is a lot more understandable.

Now just tried to go to MS upgrade to see what I have and the page is new will someone please go look at it before I do anything else wrong.

The firewall deal went ok I only have one I had read that info somewhere and remembered it, and the other thing is where you gave me intructions in "control panel" to find the upgrades I had put in now there is a place I never knew about it but I did get rid of the "infocard"
