Thanks Paul! Now I can ask for the days off. Tally HO!

"So the homeowner constructed a three foot high landscaping mound and then placed a six foot wooden fence on top of the mound, totaling nine feet in height." Cool! I wanted to see what it looked like so I checked it out on Zillow. The house is on a corner lot. Don't blame her for wanting a little privacy.

lazygardens, someone else is making the Word files and usually e-mails them to club members. But they ask if I could also make them available on our webpage. So I'm assuming all the members have Word. Actually my Word program has gone haywire and I have been using WordPad to open my .doc files. Is it possible to convert the .doc files to .pdf without having to reformat? And would I have to have the Adobe writer program to do this?

In a 1930's house I would attend to that 15% of galvanized pipe and cure that problem waiting to happen. You won't get soft water from any no salt conditioner so let's get that out of the way. Irrigation... it's a waste of money to treat water used for irrigation and softened water may not be best for what you're irrigating in the long run. Spend the money to bypass the water treatment hardware and supply the irrigation system raw untreated water. Softener sizing... rather than relying on averages reported by the water authority and one report being a year old I recommend getting the water tested by a certified independent lab so we know the water conditions are at the location we want to treat. A correctly sized softener set up for efficient operation will require little maintenance other than checking the salt level in the brine tank. Filters... at 14gpg give or take you should consider an under sink RO in the kitchen for drinking, cooking, and ice making water.
