Some of us on the Pet Forum are concerned as we haven't heard from her recently. Hopefully she and hubby are just resting and recuperating.

I've been making these B&B Pickles for years. I think they are every bit as good as what I spent hours making from scratch. This takes minutes instead of hours. You need to find a kind of Dill Pickle that doesn't use garlic. The only one I've found is Vlasik, and I try to find the ones that are already sliced into rings. I use the same jar in which they came. Bread & Butter Pickles (out of Dill ) 1 qt jar of dill Pickles (NO GARLIC!), drained, rinsed, and cut as desired. 2 cups sugar 2/3 cup cider vinegar 2 Tlbsp. pickling spices Boil mixture of sugar, vinegar and spices for one minute; remove from heat and allow to sit for a few minutes so the spices can better infuse their flavor. Return pickles to the original jar or any other. You'll need to strain out the spices as you pour the spiced liquid over the pickles to cover. Re-lid the jar. This tastes best when allowed to sit for a day or two before eating. Keep refrigerated. You can also use this for Pickled Beets by doing the same as above only using 2- 15oz jars/cans of sliced beets, drained Hope you like them as much as we do. CAKate

The few people who have my info I trust, we have shared both directions. I would hope my husband would be able find his way here to post if something happens. But it might not occur to him. Dear God, how much can one person bear? How very very sad. I wonder what is happening to teh owners of the attack dogs? I wish there was some way to know.

Linda, if you read this, please know that you, your husband and Leah Marie are very much in my heart. I hope better times are just around the corner.

After reading through all the posts for bessiedawg, I am just amazed. If you are reading this my prayers and thoughts are with you. To be attacked, finding out about pregnancy, losing the dogs and then your precious baby Leah as such a vulnerable time. Just know that there are a lot of us out there wrapping our virtual arms around you and holding you and yours close to our hearts.

Thank you all so much. I didn't realize that this thread was here. We are doing OK, at least most of the time. We had tried not to get too excited about the pregnancy, but of course we really were. We hadn't told anyone yet because of our previous history.

As far as the case goes, there was a preliminary hearing late this morning and the defendants didn't show up. The judge has ordered their bail rescinded and issued a warrant for their arrest. I have a feeling that they will never be found again, but I hope I am wrong.

I just dropped the food I was eating. I'm shocked. I have been out on vacation and am just now getting caught up here. I can't believe it. I am so so so sorry for yet another thing you truly didn't deserve. You're in my prayers.
