I guess I didn't give enough info. I was using the install disc and was trying to install an optional program called "Natural Color Pro" from the disc. As soon as I clicked on install it came up in Firefox. That was why i wanted to turn FF off, After i read the screen closely there was a workaround that I got to work. Everything is now working great, all I have to do now ti to learn how to use it. Thanks again.....Jim

RC, I did a system restore early on;in fact did it twice with different dates. Message said there were no changes. So I went to Bob's link, found a download box, clicked on it and nothing happened. I also saw this there: Visit the Firefox download page in any browser (e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer). The page will automatically recommend the best version(s) of Firefox for you. I went there, didn't see anything like a recommendation. I did see a download box, clicked on it, but nothing happened. There were illustrations and instructions, but nothing live to click on. So I am back where I started. There has got to be a way to do this. But what, where? Thanks. Sue

Here is a link to Firefox and pages not loading properly. One of the many possible problems cited may be the add-ons and plug-ins but suggest you take the steps from the top. In your statement of your problem: 1-Error includes the word "chrome" and if that is Google's Chrome you might consider taking care of Chrome at least temporarily. (I avoid using Chrome because I am somewhat paranoid when it comes to Google and accusations of misuse of its data collection.) As to slowness of browsers, you might also look to make sure you do not have too many programs loading when you boot your computer. Is the profile you found in the correct place ? If so, just use the Profile Manager as I suggested above - that's what it's for. You can copy and paste files in, and it might work, but historically that has led to some problems in Firefox. I have done it though. If you use the Profile Manager, you can be sure Firefox "knows" about a different profile. Are you having trouble with that ? (Btw, even if the profile is in an atypical place it will still be loaded by FF and run fine. I actually put my profiles in a different place that I like to keep them.) I don't quite understand your reply to me, "I took it to finding Firefox profiles if it can't be accessed through Firefox." If this clarifies any, you can't run the Profile Manager while Firefox is running. You have to close FF, start the Profile Manager as is explained in the either of the articles, then choose a different profile as the default. It's pretty easy actually. To start the Profile Manager, in the Start>>Run dialog box, type in: firefox.exe -p
