I don't like the Celeron 925, it's a low budget processor and after all the processor is the computer.

That was what I saw as well and kind of knew what the answer was going to be just tough to pass up at dam near free. My guess is it would work just be a little slow.

My guess is that running graphically intensive Auto Cad on a basic/entry level PC like that would excruciatingly slow, if even possible at all.

I'm sure that Toshiba is a good value for simple uses and web browsing but probably not much else.

Take the autocad requirements and use for a basic min in your search

AutoCAD reminds me of my brother. He passed away from stomach cancer. Worked for one of the states prison systems. (ten.) Used AutoCAD to design license plates... heh. I And other equiptment and office furniture the prisoners made to sell to the various state's offices and different departments and honcho's.

I had sent him a copy for his home and his IT guy wouldn't or couldn't supply a home copy. It really didn't require tons of power, unless you were to change screens often - most cpu's would be usable. But odd sized ... his office desktop monitor and graphic cards where very extreme high end items. It worked from his budget home desktop OK.

He had some good stories about prisoners taking weekend vacations in speed boats and other things like making fake walls to be able to hang out with friends while getting drunk. :)

Thanks all, picked up a DV6 HP 320 gb harddrive and 4 gm ram which I upgraded to 7 professional and seems to be great so far.

This is way OT but we had a friend that was a prison guard (Folsom -I think) and it was really something to watch him talk as he never used his lips. Ever. You could see his teeth but those lips never moved. He had to learn to do that because the cons were always watching the guards, reading their lips looking for whatever info they could get.
