How do I change Administrator's Rules?

I'm trying to send an email with lots of pictures. My email program will not send the email, a pop-up tells me it's blocked by Administrator's Rules. I've searched for something that refers to large files, but can't find anything. Any ideas?

I'm using a Toshiba Satellite with Vista Home Premium OS. TIA

Why don't you try zipping all the photos into one file

1 Right-click on the file (or folder) that you would like to zip.

2 Select:Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder
This is all you have to do in order to make Windows Vista to zip a file.

3 Look for the newly zipped file in the same location/folder that the original one is at.
4 If you would like to unzip a file, right-click it and then select Extract All. A dialog box will open - hit Enter if you want the file to be extracted at the same location or navigate to a new folder.

What email program are you using? Quite a few email programs place limits on the total size of attachments that can accompany a single message. If you are sending a lot of pictures, particularly ones that are right off your digital camera without reducing them in size, you could be easily bumping up against that. Unless the person on the other end actually needs the original size files (like there is a need to do some Photoshop work on them), you can easily reduce the file sizes substantially and they will look just as good displayed on the computer screen at the other end.

In my case, I use Hotmail, which has an attachment limit of 10MB total. A typical digital picture I take is usually about 2 MB or so in size, which means that I can only send about 4-5 of these pictures at a time. But I almost always reduce such photos to about 100-150 Kb each, which means that I can attach up to about 80 of them at a time.

If your friend is now the owner of a machine used by someone else, I wouldn't trust anything on that machine without wiping it completely and reinstalling the OS. If she didn't receive the install discs with the machine, I'd recommend she get a new full install copy of Windows (the most recent version of Windows that the machine will run)-post the make/model of it and someone here will tell you. Tell us how much memory it has. If you really want to get into the existing administrator account-there is a variety of info already available. All you have to do is google using examples such as-- xp lost admin password -- or -- xp lost admin rights --. Some of this is labeled as USE AT YOUR OWN RISK and may or may not work depending on the user's level of expertise.

You have 5 choices here. 1. Lower your existing hood. That will only help marginally, as the real culprit is no external venting. 2. Change hoods. See#1 3. Change your cooking and cleaning habits. Eliminate greasy foods entirely, and clean your kitchen thoroughly after each use. No buildup, or at least not as much. 4. Petition your building to vent through that adjacent window by running the duct there. Or somewhere outside. NOT an existing duct of a different variety. That would be a fire hazard. 5. Move into a building or SFH that allows external venting. Or I guess you can live with things as is and just buy new soft furnishings and repaint a lot more often.

Click on your Houzz in the top right hand corner. It will take you to a page like this. Click on edit profile and the screen will show User name Email First name (publicly displayed) What you type in the first name box is what will show as your screen name. Hope this helps!

I honestly don’t think listing your interests will make any difference to your user experience. It isn’t possible on the website version and I can’t say I’ve ever missed it. I’ve never wanted to find out anyone else's interests by looking at their profile. One’s interests and/or expertise are clear from which forums one frequents and the content of one’s posts. There’s a Bulbs Forum if you want information about hyacinths. There’s no Hyacinths Forum because that would be a very tiny and limited niche. There is a Begonias Forum because that’s a huge field. They’re incredibly varied and widely collected. ETA I’ve looked at your Begonia post and your plant is a Hibiscus, not a Hyacinth. Very different. There is a Hibiscus Forum.

Here is an example of a regular photo where I reduced the file size from about 2 MB down to 73 KB, a factor of about 25. You can see it is still sharp and decent size.

Irfanview makes it very easy to reduce the size of photos with quality similar to K9's example. Before I changed to the 3G network I use to have to reduce all my sending photos for DUN use. They were all under 100kb. I still will do it today if the email package requires it.

I nearly always reduce the size of mine before sending because I know I hate getting pictures that are so huge they will not fit on my computer screen.
