Having looked at the photo of your carb, yours may in fact feature a "high speed fuel adjustment" instead of a "fixed size main jet". I recall that on some of the old (1970s and older) Briggs & Stratton engines, the adjustment procedure went something like this: The high speed screw is the one in the bottom of the bowl. Run the High Speed adjuster screw in (CW) until it stops "finger tight only". Then, back the screw out (CCW) 1.5 turns (this should be enough for the engine to run at high RPM with no load). Start the engine and run the speed up to governed RPM (but don't shove it all the way "against the stops". you just want to run it as high RPM as it will go without causing the governor to begin "hunting"). If the engine begins "stumbling" and no black smoke is present in the exhaust, open the screw (CCW) further and the engine will smooth out. Keep turning the screw out (CCW) until the engine begins to stumble, RPM begins to drop, or black smoke appears in the exhaust stream. You might want to place some sort of "white" sheet or something for a background for contrast (it needs to be situated so the exhaust stream is between your eyes and the background) so you can clearly tell when black smoke just begins to show. When any of the 3 symptoms become apparent, run the screw in (CW) about 1.25 to 1.5 turns. This setting should get you into business but you should still test the performance under loaded conditions to see if it will maintain a good RPM then. I hope one of the Tecumseh pros will chime in here about this carb issue because if the "adjusting screw" ain't an adjusting screw........it must just be a "sediment drain" for the bowl. Does this "screw" have a tapered portion on the end of it? Is there any "jam nut" present on the screw or does it just have the little spiral spring?

I'm not good at giving detained decorating directions--although you might checkt the decorating forum. I would Google or whatever, "tropical" decorating themes, also look at British colonial-- think dark woods, plus rattan or bamboo. Look at fabrics or bedding in tropical prints--do certain color combinations really send you? You might find a picture of a room that is not a kitchen, but that you can base your kitchen on--especially if is combined with family room. Dark woods and appliances can look good with all the citrus colors --more acid-y yellows and greens, corals and peaches and so forth.There is also a great color scheme using dark woods, white/ivories, and ocean blues, but I am not a "cool" person so I don't gravitate to that--but can admire it in another's room. Decide which things you already have and will not change--? you said curtains--such as sofa fabric, rug; what are you able to change or add for accent--maybe don't want wallpaper in kitchen, but found a great tropical print for throw pillows and will pick up some of those colors. It is easier to collect some of these swatches or samples, and photos, and then try to see what color or stain of cabinet seems best and most "timeless" (though there may be almost no such thing), because certainly wall paint colors and room accent pieces can be changed over the years. I think you are still refining your "vision," so I would work on getting that in a concrete form--your "story board" of colors, materials, combinations that send you--once you get it, you will be better able to see what choices to make to translate that into kitchen materials.

If I use this hutch, I plan on adding a middle section to give it more balance with the room. It would be sort of like this. To answer a few questions - the upstairs sideboard is too wide for this spot. It's much wider than the one that I'm going to use in the alcove. I'm not worried about having a place to put food with this hutch, the sideboard could be used for that when needed. Though I've never entertained since we moved here 9 years ago, and not sure if I ever will. Don't have any family close enough to stop in for a visit (nearest is over 400 miles away). I use the dining room table way more for large projects than for eating on, so I really like having the space. Our main dishes are multi colored fiestaware that lives in the glass front cabinets in the kitchen, and I love how they look there. Does not bother me to own china I'm only going to look at, I own lots of stuff that serves no purpose other than it makes me smile when I look at it. I won't use it for everyday because my husband is a klutz when it comes to hand washing, or insists on putting everything in the dishwasher. He's gotten near death threats for taking the scrub pad to my china. It's been a long standing joke about faucets with dents in them, every place he has lived, that has been the result, until we got the high arch faucet and enamel sink. He's too afraid to "shake" the water out of a pan in case he let go and broke the sink. His Dad use to say that he was coming to our house to dent the faucet as DH had dented everyone they had while he was growing up. I would respond that he didn't need to, as mine ended up with dents shortly after installing them anyway. But back to the hutch - I've given up on any plants in the house - since I have a 6,000 sq foot garden, that's enough growing stuff, and the cats mess with the plants any. This is Oliver( the mask faced Siamese) and his sister when they were little - in our previous house. I had my last indoor plant die about three years after moving here, and I've not had one since. Could not do any windows there - here is the door from the other side - there is a stairway behind the hutch. We have moved and replace every window and door in the house, so I'd have to really sweet talk DH if I wanted to change one now. Or wait until he's gone for a week and do it without him! We moved the door to the side and ran the roof across the two story section so we could create a small front porch. I think all farmhouses should have a porch. Actually the whole dining room use to be the front porch at one time, then it got enclosed, but that was long before we bought it. I won't be rushing into anything with this, I would love to be able to use it instead of sending it to the goodwill or dump. Lisa Mocha I do like the idea of a wainxcotting! I wonder if I could talk DH into spending the money. My dad could do it. If I did I would want it to match the vestibule paneling though I a fear that would be both tima and labor intensive as well as $$$$$$$$$$$. I'm going to ask my dad how cheaply he could do it. Done right I think it would add great value to the house. Vestibule paneling: There is very minimal wall on the other 3 walls. Mostly windows and then the wide opening. The colors are as follows: Office: Sherwin Williams High Reflectance white. Very bright, stark white (but not cold white). I think it could be hard to live w/ if I didn't have the walls covered in so many pictures. Office Ceiling: undetermined Center Hall: Walls: Benjamin Moore Ivory Porcelain CC 239 Flat Ceiling: Sherwin Williams Caviar 6990 from the Essantials line. Both Flat. LR test wall: Sherwin Williams Sealskin 7675 from Concepts in Color. Since it is only a Color To Go sample it is a satin finish I believe. There are a multitude of whites floating around on the other walls. Ceiling is undetermined but the color that you see in the picture is BM San Antonio Gray. I have a conference to go to today and grocery shopping after but I'm crossing my fingers that I can do the next wall tonight. Tomorrow at the latest then show you. Have a good day!
