Check out the airjet tubs (Bain Ultra and Aquatic). They blow air to circulate the water and then blow plain air after the sensor detects that the tub is empty to make sure no water is left standing in the system. Another thing to consider w/a whirlpool type tub is that the water may get very cold while you sit. The Aquatic tubs have a line (HotSoak) that has a heater included that helps the water stay warmer. I think you should remodel to suit yourself. Unless you are planning on selling the house soon, and you are actually remodeling for the new buyers. In which case, line up the new buyers first. If you don't like baths why would you want a tub? As long as there is a second bathroom with a tub for someone with kids, I doubt it would be much of an issue. My sister remodeled her bathroom and opted to take out the tub. She hates baths. Me, on the other hand, I love baths and insisted on a soaking tub in this remodel. But I bought this house without a tub in the master, cuz it's a super duper neighborhood. In this remodel, we lost a bedroom and a half bath on the first floor but we are making the house really comfortable for our family. It's wonderful to free yourself from worring about resale. Worry about resale too much and for sure you'll be dying to move :-) I dunno, this particular style of question comes up so much that I think a lot of people must end up with spaces they can never really love, just because another person in the future might not agree with their remodeling decisions. Just remember, everyone who tells you that they would never buy your house because it didn't have a tub is just that person's deal, not everyone who will ever be shopping for a house. My sister would buy your house! I myself would never want to buy a house with blue vinyl siding. However, those blue houses get sold. And when I was house hunting, I saw LOTS of ugly granite that no doubt the owners put in for "resale". Huge turnoff for me, but those houses still sold. In the end it always comes down to cleanliness, correct market pricing, and location. Unless you're a house flipper, life is too short to make decisions based on what somebody, somewhere, may or make not like in the future. Good luck!

I'm a DIY and I almost always work panels hot. I also keep one hand behind my back. I have 30 years of electrical work behind me, not that I've seen everything or know everything by any means. I do have a lot of respect for the amount of power a panel can deliver. Forty-eight kW will power a car nicely. That's more power than my '65 Opel Kadett's engine delivered. I agree with Petey, however. I do NOT recommend it for most DIYs. It was many years before I was brave enough (or crazy enough) to take the cover off a hot panel.

on the second page of the spec sheet it has a chart with one section labeled temperature raise. One module only does a 22 degree temp raise at 4 gpm. SO if your groundwater is 55 you will only be able to raise it to 77 at 4 gpm. I like my water at least 100 degrees, so if the water is 55 and you need a 45 degree raise, it will only do 2 gpm, that's with NO other water mixed in, so it will take a long long time to fill. You said its 110 gallons or so, at 4 gpm it will still take 25 minutes...so you need something that can put out enough hot water to fill it in about 10-15 minutes (so it doesn't get cold waiting to fill) . I know I like it warmer than 100 (maybe 105?) because back when I was pregnant I used to use a pool thermometer because they suggest pregnant women not bathe in over 100 degree. I was OK with 100, but wished it could be warmer! If you have gas, then price out a dedicated tankless for it. Its probably easier then running a special electric line assuming you have gas anyway. As far as the 75 gal tank. If it heats water to 130 and you use all 75 gal, that means you are mixing that 75 gal with cold water...how cold does your water get (didn't notice your location)? Try mixing 7 cups of your hottest water with 5 cups of your COLD water and see how it comes out. (I think that is the same proportions as 70 gal hot and 50 gal cold=120gal.
