I did see some on ebay that probably ran Windows 98. If you know the operating system, you can post that also, it will give us more options. My guess is it's old and you may not be able to hook it to their high speed. Hotels I've stayed at were using a wireless network and without knowing if your computer has those ports it's hard to say. You may want to call the hotel (or where you are staying) to ask what type of high speed they have - wired or wireless. Will they have DSL or cable? Our daughter had the Alltel internet service and she didn't like it....kept getting disconnected. What we did, was drop our landlines and got wireless internet service. All I needed on my computer was a network card. I have a small antenna on my roof, it plugs into the network card, or in my case, into my router and I can have my 3 computers online at once. We now have 2 cell phones, faster wireless internet and saving about $40 a month. (we had 3 phone lines + my cell phone). and we had our home phone numbers ported to our cell phones.

I don't know if McDonalds is an open network or not, but if it is you should be able to connect automatically. If you don't get a connections, again if open, McD may have some log-on requirement, most do, something to say you agree to be on an open, no security, network Seems I sometimes have to click: Start -> connect to -> Show all connections -> Click on the "Wireless" Icon and ask to "see all networks". This may be enough to get you connected, if necessary at all.

Call your isp support line. They should be happy to talk you through setting up the connection. I assume its a regular dial up account ... just plugging the laptop phone wire into a phone jack may pop the windows dial up connection wizzard. If not, its accessable in IE tools, internet options, under the Connections tab. Set up a new connection! You'll need the dial up phone number and your user login name and password.
