LOL! I needed a laugh today and ya'll have provided it! I suppose this is a "flower" and due to being rather odd looking plus really smelling bad, it should qualify! My local variety is the Clathrus columnatus but trust me, when they appear, you'll be asking "what died?" Country goodbye titles? These are all real and a local hillbilly radio station occasionally broadcasts those that won't get them kicked out of church!

I'm so glad you posted a thread so I knew you still wanted them. It's that crazy season you know--winter sowing, when everyone goes a little whacko between the frozen potting mix, spilled seeds, spilled potting mix, duct tape that won't stick (WHY not?), and the ever-popular zone wars! I wonder what I could possibly have done to entertain myself last January that was even half this much fun?

Kansas is known for its hot, dry summers...but this is ridiculous. The vigilance it is taking to keep everything alive is wearing me out, frankly! Constantly watering, checking, watering, checking, etc. *sigh* What's left of my WS babies will most likely get pitched (not many viable plants left in those jugs!), and the spring/summer sown babies aren't looking so hot, either. What gives, Ma Nature? Susan in Kansas, ready to do her rain dance in the buff (which would surely kill off whatever's left, ha!)

I should add that I realize the Hallmark site wasn't responsible for the virus, but the free site names are more likely to be used to spread phishing viruses, and that makes people a little more uncomfortable about opening them. I have to admit that because I pay for the service I tend to send cards out more often. My father in law loves the patriotic ones on the 4th of July - it gives him a smile. I send the special occasion cards out all the time to multiple recipients. I send the Christmas ones out to my coworkers and they love getting them at work. Anyway, just adding a thought.
