Anyone Have A Commercial Microwave?
Comments (3)Yes, I have a Sharp R-21LCF. It's considered light duty commercial. I particularly like it because it has no buttons - just a dial that you set the time with. Additionally, no feature to set the power percentage - I view that as a plus. Very easy to clean. My family (six kids) has been using it hard for 4 years or so and we have not had any trouble at all. Here is a link that might be useful: Sharp R-21CLF...See Morecommercial microwaves - any downsides?
Comments (11)Agreeing with the above, I can extend that thought. I wish I knew why there are commercial microwave ovens when cheapies seem to work fine too. I think I see cheap residential microwaves in many large cafeterias... and I don't get it. These cafeteria ovens get used a lot. I think I saw one in an Ikea cafeteria, and I don't get it. In the kitchen showroom area, Ikea displays expensive wall microwaves. But in their cafeteria the manager installs a cheapie near the ketchup. Customers use it. The associated thought process is going to reduce the need to buy the expensive one. It seems there is no advantage worth mentioning or showcasing in Ikea's microwave ovens... ... since a cheap competitor's model gets installed for a million views a year. b.t.w. for the record, I like Ikea and I've sometimes told them of things when they don't seem to be on the ball. I might get around to sending them an email to ask about this. But so far I'm still wondering about the massive price difference in various levels of the market. I don't get the advantage of that whole line of product known as "commercial microwave" ovens. Maybe in a restaurant supply store I'll find someone who can talk to me and list a number of reasons why these things exist and are bought....See MoreMicrowave placement when u have a commercial exhaust, HELP!
Comments (23)Dee beat me to it, but at least until the patent runs out, Sharp makes all the micro drawers and they are standard sizes in widths that line up with the most popular sized appliances. They are installed with a cutout made to fit much like and wall oven would install. The cabinet folks know how to order them or make them right. If you had to replace, it would be a few screws, slide it out, unplug, plug in a new one, slide in and insert securing screws. I think they have been around about 7 years. They came out while we were in our planning phase and we've had ours about 6-1/2 years. Before we moved into this house, I had a Sharp convection micro for at least 22 years with one $100 repair....See MoreCommercial refrigerator for home use?
Comments (5)We had a Hobart refrigerator when growing up. It was LOUD. And, it had a loud alarm that sounded if the door was open too long. Sometimes it would sound in the middle of the night when we were asleep. My bedroom was directly above it. There were many times it bounced me out of bed in the middle of the night. I wouldn't recommend it....See MoreUser
