Don't clean up to much! When in doubt don't do anything. I have seen a lot of problems when cleaning up too much. Leave all those programs listed there as is. The only thing you need to do is run TFC, CCleaner, ATF. Then do a defrag. Then check out what's starting up with windows and get a hold of the unnecessary start ups. Startuplite is a good program to use for that from Malwarebytes. Once the computer is running good , flush out the System Restore points by turning system restore off and back on. This will free up space and clear out any possible bad restore points. Here is a link that might be useful: Start up lite

These are the instructions we give here at the forum for malwarebyters copy them & save them to a folder if you want. Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop. Click here Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. Â Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. Â If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Â Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan. Â The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. Â When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. Â Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. Â When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note) Â The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM. Â Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply. Extra Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer,please do so immediately.

not sure how much more descriptive I can be. the smyptoms are stated quite clearly above. the add/remove window opens up, the slider at the right is very small indicating a very long list, but beyond the first 4 or 5 programs in the list it's blank. you can move the slider, or click on the down arrow and the slider moves like there are programs in the list, but NOTHING is visible. very odd. I will follow the links provided above and see what I can see. next tuesday, I will be infront of the computer again, and I will post some screen shots. thanks, John
