I do mine every 3 or 4 months when the idea comes to mind. To my mind cookies are harmless.

I rarely clear my cookies by I do clear my temp files and other cache regularly on both browsers. Probably once a month or so.
I do keep all 3rd party cookies blocked those are the ones to be concerned with.

As long as the system is operating properly it absolutely is a personnal choice.

Personally I do it when I think of it.

I do mine every few days, emptying out Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History.
Makes the browser able to work a little faster and better.

I use Firefox and have it set up to automatically clear all cookies, etc., every time I close my browser.

I have CCleaner set up to save only cookies from my 8 or so most imporant sites. (Those I will only remove if there is a login problem or something.) CCleaner removes all others every time I use it (about every two weeks).

In general the clearing/deleting of cookies does not speed up your browsing. An exception would be the interference of a page loading with a stored corrupt or expired cookie which would require removal.

98% of the time they are just packets of data which will cause no harm.

I do mine, cookies adware, spyware, whatever you want to call it, before each shut down, and sometime while lingering on sites such as this, because it is constantly loading into your PC and it will slow everything down..this site is one of the worst.

If you keep removing cookies daily they will keep reloading every visit. It is a real waste of time and unnecessary to do them daily.

This site is advertisement driven which does mean a lot of cookies. If you do not delete them and remain signed in normally the speed here is more than adequate. And, this report is coming from a user who is on an antique DUN.

You say toemato...I say tamato lol along with cookies comes spyware, I choose to rid my PC daily if not more, of these pest, that will ultimately slow down your PC.. I keep my PC in tip top running cond., no viruses, no crap period!!! also run disk clean up before running defrag. and do that when needed.

Please do what you feel is best for you and I hope your continued success with the protocol.

For those who are inexperienced and reading this thread, all too often low and non-threat data miners and tracking cookies are recognized by some users (not speaking of any member here) as spyware/malware and malicious. In most circumstances these cookies as well as most others, are non-invasive, non-threatening and safe. They tend to be more of a privacy question than a security question.

If any user feels a desire to be focused on the threat of cookies so be it, but I ask users to remember if they are delivered on your system between removals why isn't there damage created during their short-term stay? They are not isolated nor are they dormant.

Now the disclaimer: Yes there has been cookie oriented threats in the past and likely will be in the future. By there nature and design they were quickly defeated and removed with standard applications. However, this potential threat is undoubtedly of less concern than the other threats we face; rootkits, keyloggers, viruses and bots.

Be safe, be aware, and use your protection utilities in a systematic manner.
