Service Plans -- buying to fix a 9 year old stove??

I have a 9 year old all-electric KA slide-in. It currently has three problems:

The duel burner does not work at all -- DH replaced the "infinite switch" but it still does not work.

The 9" burner --- DH shorted the switch while fixing the stove and now this burner thinks it is always on HIGH even when I turn it on low. (probably needs a new switch)

An intermittent board problem. Oven will go dead during cooking for 5 or 10 minutes and suddenly come back on. This only happens about every 8-10 months and has happened six times since 2005. Not a huge concern to me but I hope it never gets worse.

Anyhow, DH wants to fix the stove, not replace. I was thinking -- why not buy a service plan from KA and then have it fixed under the plan????? I am not sure yet what a one year plan costs but it may be less than the repair costs I would incur otherwise.

Am I crazy?
