any experience with Fisher paykel 36' gas or 48' dual ranges?

I have just come upon the Fisher paykel ranges. The 36" AG seems to be able to use the oven when the lights go out. I would love to hear if anyone has experience with these, especially regarding size of oven and performance of broiler

I really don't know if this will help, but I have the Fisher Paykel 24" ovens that appear to be the same series, if you will, as their ranges. My electric ovens work very nicely, though I do have little hotspots in the rear corners on convection. The broiler is a touch tepid...I think gas would serve you better there. The fit and finish of the ovens is fabulous...the stainless with black mirror glass is quite stunning.

Just an fyi. We own a FP washer and dryer, and ran into problems early on with the dryer being a lemon. Well, FP wasn't easy to work with. They are a "repair at all costs" company, which we thought was crazy. They must have come out to fix the dryer 6-8 times in 1.5 years. So, it was quite a hassle.

After considering many high end ranges, I settled with a FP (48”). It was a nightmare. Long story short, the range came with a malfunctioning gas safety valve. After dealing with their New Zealand based customer service (which was not good) and having their local certified repair company attempt to fix it, it was still no good. After 6 months they finally tell me about a regional customer service manager in the area...not sure why they waited so long. He was good and was able to get me a new range. It’s the newest model and we just baked with it for the first time. It vents extremely hot air from the back vent when the oven is on....seems to be a safety hazard (see photo). It’s a good looking range, but I wish I had spent the money on something else.

Charles Ross Homes, Bosch brand can be compared to GE on American market quality, it’s not bad but it’s definitely not the quality for the price. 15 years ago when I was in Ukraine their stores were filled with this brand and few others too, on my opinion Bosch isn’t worth invest into. BUT I know many people are drawn by the European look. Well it’s fine as it looks good. So years later when I saw Bosch on American marker I was shocked, how, why and who allowed it here? Glad I found your review which proofs again to stay away from it. Thanks

It’s in and I am mostly likely having it delivered next week. Apparently you have to claim your rebate before Feb. We ordered the digital 5 burner duel fuel with griddle. I went back and forth so much on the digital version, but once I saw it - I was totally in love. I also can’t imagine cooking without a timer. Yes, people say you have your phone..on our current stove, I use two timers when I have two dishes in, and I even use it when I am making things on the stove and need to come back to it. We had so many delays, sadly it’s going to be months before it’s installed. I think F&P may have some older items in stock (at least when I was shopping earlier in the year). Your appliance appliances store can check. When we were shopping there were so many burner versions of the range. The F&P rep at the showroom told me, they are phasing some items out to streamline their offerings, but I would have been able to order something if it was still in stock.

Consumer Reports tested the Fisher Paykel OR30SCG4X1 which performed the worst (scored 33 out of 100) of all 30" "pro-style" gas and dual-fuel ranges tested. The OR30SDG6X1 appears to differ from it only in appearance, and by including the tiny digital control and warming drawer.

Thanks everyone who has answered. Orangedaisy: I think that the 48" probably is the same. Thanks for the input. Is your broiler an infrared? Sandlll, sorry for your experience. I have heard that the FP products of today are a good deal better than those of 3-5 years ago. guadalupe: no I mean FP. They have had their own brand on ranges, for as far as I can tell since 2007 but I have yet to find a dealer in my area (Washington dc) who stocks them to look at. Have different configurations than the DCS, but thanks for your input.

I'm not sure of the definition of an infrared broiler, as opposed to a regular electric broiler. Mine has two elements...one for small batches, and one for larger. I imagine though, that you might be able to get a gas broiler in a dual fuel range...it would make sense. Since I have wall ovens, there is no gas source right there in the unit.

I think perhaps I gave my broiler not enough credit, saying that it was quite tepid. I often preheat it for a while and then I can get some good results, but sometimes kabobs will overcook before they brown, if you know what I mean.

I've had mine for 3 years, no service calls.

Hi, bumping this up. We're considering the F&P 48" range. A big question for us is the size of the ovens. I looked everywhere, but F&P does not provide the interior dimensions of the oven. Any help would be appreaciated on that front.

Answering my own Q - but this may benefit others.

Contact F&P customer support. Amazingly quick response (overnight from NZ)

The ovens are a tad small for US norms:

Total capacity 1.8 cf
W - 16.6"
H - 12"
D - 15.9"

Too bad, because this looks like a very good unit, but I don't know if I want to get a third oven for the larger dishes.
