Glad to be of help. Navigating the prepaid market isn't easy nor is getting a good deal on cell service. There's a lot of choices and they can be very confusing. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I wanted to do. As it turns out, Verizon doesn't seem to have much interest in offering the prepaid market LTE (or 4G) phones. Frankly there's a big difference in connection speeds between LTE and 3G but that only matters for things like web browsing or apps that use the Internet like Facebook. Connection speed has absolutely no impact on voice calls or text messages. It's certainly important to hold the phone in your hand and "play" with it. It's equally important to decide what you want the phone for. Is it just making calls, texting, or using it as a mini-computer? If the later, I might suggest that screen size becomes very important. Scrolling around a little screen, at least for me, is at best annoying and significantly reduces productivity and enjoyment. I don't know what your budget looks like but if you're committed to Verizon, I would stick with phones from Samsung, LG, and Motorola. The LG G2, for example, is a great phone, great screen size and very comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S line but because it was less popular, usually available for a few dollars less. If you want to venture into a Windows Mobile phone, again popularity has a big impact on price in the used market. Nokia makes some great phones but you have to be willing to accept the limitations of a Windows phone (which is the lack of apps). I could have been talked into the Lumia 1520, which is their phablet and has a stunning screen but I also use my phone for work and my company doesn't offer a Windows app. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have...

You can see one of the differences in the screen shots you posted. In the lower shot (Android/IPad) on the right, the route doubles back onto Drayton Street where the upper shot (PC) goes to Bull street and takes a left. Not shown is where the original map (PC) shows turning left onto Jones Street where the Android/IPad map shows making a left turn a block later onto Charlton. All three are accessing the same link but it's being read differently by two and I was curious as to why. Thanks for taking time to respond.

mtv, back in the day, it was generally cheaper to buy your phone outright rather than to subsidize the phone. When you subsidized, you paid the $100 or $200 up front, but the rest of the cost of your phone was built into your phone plan/contract. When you get to the end of your contract, the you've paid off the phone. The trouble with how that use to work, is that when you pay off your phone, your plan doesn't go down, so you were still paying more for that phone cost for no benefit. You would religiously need to update at the end of your contract to not throw money away. But, now most contracts are on the phone, and not your plan. So when you pay off your phone cost, your monthly premiums reduce, also why you normally don't have to switch plans when to get a new phone subsidy anymore. Depending on that monthly cost, you're typically going to spend the same paying up front via monthly payments. The difference maker is going to be device sales, and reduce priced phones (like older phones, or refurbished).

I use an app called Treadmill Trails. For 99 cents you can have access to a 30 minute video of a beautiful trail, and there is even one free sampler video you can download that has snippets of lots of the available trails. I have purchased about 4 over the years and I decide when I get on the treadmill if I want to be in Spain, Glacier National Park, Hawaii, or Africa. The trails get stored in my iphotos I can delete them if I need room and then just redownload without repaying anything. There are also trail walking videos on You Tube, but I dont have any to specifically recommend, the ones I have tried have been a bit clunky. There are other trail running/walking apps, but many require that you enable your camera, the perk of this is that the app will gauge your speed and adjust the video to be in sync with your cadence. I dont need that and I dont want the camera enabled on a random app for privacy concerns. I have a dear friend who swears that treadmill time should be accompanied by junk TV and she is currently using Riverside. To each his own, I tend to blast Queen, look at a Treadmill Trail and gaze out my window to the snow covered road dreaming of Spring.
