Weird bottle trap installation

It seems my contractor's plumber had never installed a decorative bottle trap before, so at first he didn't even recognize it in the box and installed a curved chrome pipe instead:

Yesterday he replaced it with my Kohler brushed nickel bottle trap. It doesn't look quite right to me... There's a chunk of pipe up at the top that he put in because the pipe wasn't long enough:

Now, I'm paying him a lot of money to have moved my pipe a few inches to the right because my new sink is wider than my old sink. Looks like he needed to move it up as well!!!

What do I do now? Do I make them break the tile and move the pipe again? Or just live with this??? (In all fairness, I didn't alert them in advance that I was using an unusual bottle trap - I didn't realize there would be issues - and moving the pipe would be even more expensive than it sounds because it's an apartment building with cast iron pipes.)

Any advice appreciated! (I have no perspective anymore...)
