strange happenings on page I go to often

I have been going to this site (OneNewsNow) for a long time & now suddenly I get the message below on all links. I wonder what is going on. I'm afraid to go against the warning. What do U make of it?

I JUST tried a page from that site that came in yesterday & get the same message..the warning wasn't there yesterday.

what happens is that hackers find weak code in some websites and install their code in to the website in a way that allows what is called a drive by infection, just by going to the site you can be infected so when you get that report definitely heed the warning. Often times also it will be a re-direct scam where it sends you to some other fake website that is made to look like the one you wanted but it is not really, it is a site created by the hackers to try to get you to think it is the real thing.

Hi...nice job helping that person out like that to save their plants... as you all have said to keep your plants in the back is a good and safe place for them... its just that I for one really like driving arround and seeing others plants and yards, and get ideas for my yard.. and when I going garage saleing I like to see peoples yards and house plants they have outside.. a couple of weeks ago I happened to stop at a sale and the lady had a huge jade, the branches were as big as your arm...and also she had 2 burro tail plants that were hung from the eave of the house and they both touched the ground they were beautiful..she said they were 10 years old....how she takes them in and out of her house without them breaking up... true plant lovers look and don't take... we just ask for a cutting..;) linda....

geneo, where are you located? do you think that hurricane isaac had anything to do with it? it hit on aug 29. has there been any chemical spraying going on in your area? for mosquitoes? maybe someone nearby is putting out feeders for the fall migrations and the birds have found that and are all congregating there? I put out black sunflower seeds and get lots of bird visitors. I put out some small seeds on the ground for the doves. I didn't have lot of hummers this summer but right now there are plenty of them. And I noticed last evening tons of cardinals. For rockguy, it is a pain but you must change the hummer solution often. I do it every weekend, I just keep 3 feeders on my large back porch periphery. One of them has a screw on/off top (instead of at the bottom) which is much much easier to clean and change. Right now the hummers are migrating thru and so if you put them out now you'll probably get a bunch til october. Laurie in tupelo ms

What causes the leaves to go bad like this? It happens often
Q

That's just mechanical damage - you can see the torn leaves on the right hand side of the photo. You will often get a similar effect from insect damage - after the critters nibble on the foliage, the edges turn brown and dry - it is the plant sealing off its exposed tissue. The leaf on the left with the brown edge is also evidencing some mechanical damage - folding, bruising, etc. It just doesn't have the torn edge.

it may be that if the site owners find out they have a problem then they will fix their code so this no longer happens. This has been happening to many reputable sites unfortunately but once they tighten up their website it can be back to normal again so just keep checking and you can also let them know you are getting that warning and that you will not visit the site till you know it is safe.

sometimes it can be an advertisement that is on the site that triggers it too because some ads are malware infested.

It is giving an alert on google search also I just googled the site and got the warning

they were hijacked, contact the website by email, maybe they don't know

but on the safe side, is the address in the address bar (link/url) the exact same? if it's off by one character, it may be a phising site(made to look like a real site)

make sure it's not occurring to other sites you visit, so that it's not your pc. use tcpviewer, this will show all their internet connects your pc is connecting to and which program are connecting to the internet.

rmaniac,
I don't know what the address was before.. just never paid attention to it. I also don't know what tcpviewer is or how to use it. I believe it is the site cause as Raven said google warns about it also.
I can get into the site but can't click any links. I hope going into the site hasn't done me any damage.. I have scanned & all seems well.

If the site below is the one you use it appears to be fixed. Web of Trust gives it a green light so I went there, no problem.

Owbist it was green from WOT yesterday also but was throwing up the warnings on a google search and also from the browser as she showed.

when these drive by infections happen on sites it is very fast and there is often no time for it to get registered as a bad site at WOT when it first hits a site, going by the warnings at google and the browsers warning are what to go by because they can catch the code variations quickly. In time if it stays an infected site WOT will have time to catch it and rate it, WOT depends on people like all of us to put the notifications on so when we know of a bad site we need to use our WOT notifications and rate it and most importantly leave the reason why so people know.

I googled it again just now and it is not showing the warning on google so hopefully they were notified and removed the malicious code.

It does seem OK now. After posting here yesterday I call the number at the bottom of the page. They were gone but I left a message. I don't know if that had anything to do with it being fixed or not but figure it didn't hurt. They may have had several calls.

I had also sent an email & just got this:

Thank you for contacting us.
Google received a false/positive on OneNewsNow.com yesterday. Google has removed the alert. It is completely safe to visit our website. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
God bless,

Maybe Google, being a very liberal company does not like conservative web sites, huh?
