If you are talking about chat, open your chat window. In the upper right hand corner is an icon that looks like a wheel. Click on that and choose 'turn chat off'.

Hmmmm...Try clicking on the icon again, choose advanced setting and try turning off from there. Don't forget to press "save". Not sure if that will help, but it's worth a try.

Says somewhere in that link I scanned through, "don't bother looking for save. Everything saves automatically," or words to that effect.

When I first read the orig post I thought she meant she wants to be on face book without it showing she is there. I don't think she meant her profile or info. Poster will have to confirm that or not.

I used to use ICQ and it had an option to choose "not on line", even though I was. When I contacted people that would say "it shows you not on line" Some sites I visit shows id's of the users that are there, others say 3 members on line, etc..

The only way I know that you would show "online" on FB is with chat. I am never online with chat.
