Dual unit Fantech, does anyone have?

My master bath addition/remodel is 11.5 x 19. Part of that will be a walk in closet, which will be to one end but not behind doors, so I want to be sure to keep the moisture in area to a minimum. There will be a 4x4 shower and a sanijet tub. I want to install this Fantech model: Dual Grilles with Dimmable Halogen Lights 230 CFM fan, two Ceiling Grilles with Lights. I cannot figure out from reading the literature whether fans can be operated separately (one in shower, one near tub), or if one is on, is the other on? Also, are the lights operable without the fan being on and vice versa (fan left on without having to keep the lights on)? Or will all the lights and fans be on one switch? Or must both lights and both fans be either on or off. I guess I'm hoping for 4 separate controls. Any info you have would be appreciated.

I have the dual FanTech units. Note that there is only one fan unit/motor so when you turn it on, both grills are pulling air. I don't have lights in both grills, but you can wire the lights on a separate switch. So at most you can have three switches (one for fan, one each for lights). I went with the flourescent light because the sales man said the halogen was more of a spot light whereas the flor is more light a flood light.

Thanks! That helps me plan where switches will go. Are you pleased with the level of quiet with your Fantech? I thought with the motor being located far away it would be very quiet, but want to make sure. Everyone loves their panasonics for the quiet and want to choose the right one. Good to think about the flourescent vs halogen. Hmmm. Oh, I think it was because they could be dimmed and I thought the flourescent could not.

We are in the process of putting in AC in a 2 story 2800sq ft house. We have limited space on the side of our house and we were told we have 2 slimline choices- one from Carrier 5 ton 13 Seer Puron Condensor 38HDR060---3 or the similar Bryant unit. Anyone have one of the smaller form factor AC's and can tell me how they like it and how much it cost them? Does it cool the upstairs sufficiently? Is Carrier or Bryant the same quality unit- they look identical from the picture. The first quote I got installed and to plumb the house is $6500- seems steep and I don't want to get gouged. I have the Lee Valley pullout pantry next to my Twins freezer/fridge unit. I know that you are looking at the larger unit but I wanted to tell you that after using the unit for 6 yrs I am still very pleased with the quality . The customer service at Lee Valley was very helpful when we 1st got the unit and had questions about install. I have a lot of very heavy cans etc in my pullout , It pulls out well and the items stay in place. So at least you have a review of one of their products. c

I know it has the counter faucet, but can it also filter the water to the ice maker? If so, are the people are HD helpful enough to know what additional parts are needed to divide water between the counter faucet and the ice maker?

Anyone have experience with Verona dual fuel ranges

I've had a 36" Verona dual fuel single oven range since April and so far, I love it. The fan comes on as soon as you put the oven on and stays on until the oven cools down. It can be a bit annoying. But that's my only complaint so far. From what I've read, most of the bigger ranges have fan noise so it comes with the territory, I guess. I haven't invested in an oven thermometer yet but so far it seems to be accurate. I have no issues with quality--it's a beautiful appliance that has functioned well since the day I got it.

I think it is very quite. You can hear the air going into the vents. It's not silent. I don't have anything to compare to. All my fans are FanTech. I have never heard a Panasonic run so I can't compare. You won't be disappointed. I forget it's running.
