Zimbra

Zimbra in now on my iPhone and iPad. I read up on it and almost all the googles talk about how great it is even when I googled Zimbra problems or Zimbra don't want it.

Any info? Is this jailbreaking?

No this is not jailbreaking. You would have to likely have someone do that for you. Not something you need to worry about.With an Android device it is called rooting.

Why do you not want zimbra? You may not be able to do your email and other stuff with out it if you currently use it.
What do you mean it is now on them? what did you put it on originally or what was it on originally? You have to have it involved in an email account somewhere? is it on your pc?

I found it on my iPhone yesterday for the first time. Never heard of it. I realized I was looking at email in a form that is similar to the original. It appears that I have two ways to get email off the iPhone.

If it is safe OK. I'll just leave it there.I run scared of viruses on these apple phones and pads. Don't have control panels and antimalicious spyware to click on and run.

When I googled it there was lots of good stuff and a warnng about taking it off because I would lose some other features. It crept up on me. Thanks for the links to articles on jailbreaking.

oh no what adblock are you using I had a hard time trying to remove an adblock for someone else, it was telling them the same message. We had to use REVO uninstaller to fully remove it. Please tell me exactly what adblock name is. This may be where some of your problem came from. Some of these are nothing but malware masquerading as adblockers. Let me know the name and also what browser are you using this on? Thanks, Grandms. I couldn't reply right away because I had to go out for several hours. I go directly to the web mail via my browser, connecting to each type of e-mail separately by clicking on it in Bookmarks (=favorites). I never use Outlook E. and although I do use Hotmail, I decided not to have it gather all my e-mail in one place. I use one e-mail program for one sort of business, and other programs for friends, or i-Tunes receipts, and so on. It simplifies life somewhat. Hmm, although over the past three days or so, I had to give up on many of my attempts to bring up Lycos, this morning and again, just now, it came up with no problem. I can't help connecting the trouble with their switch to Zimbra, but on the Zimbra forum that I visited in hopes of a cure, Zimbra told someone else that it is entirely a Lycos problem and, in effect, washed their hands of it. When I was searching here for a solution, I came across a post I made in Dec. about something similar, but not as bad as it was this time. I guess if no one else is having this trouble and it doesn't start bothering me again, I might be smart to just let sleeping dogs lie!

Note: July 28, 2012. As one can see if they read this post I was brilliant when I made the final connection between a blu-ray player with wifi, an old television and a wifi system already in place. I started on July 2, asking the question if I could connect a blu-ray player to an old television. This post continued on to its final posting site to explain how to connect a new blu-ray DVD player to a 13 year old television. It is a great lesson and worth reading. That's the way it goes when learning from scratch at any age. It also shows the power and the generosity of the Computer Help forum. I give my final results here on July 28, 2012 with a shout out called Mike Kaiser, can I have a word with you. Yes I was successful but so was Mike who kept me going over and over again with his instructions and visual aids from the actual DVD I was planning on buying and Zep who gave me a good chart that everyone should take to Best Buy if they tell you it can't be done. Damcoy started me with his encouragement to not linger with old technology and Grandms as always looked in on my progress.

i have internet thru comcast and have used that email account for awhile. i have never setup a gmail account. i recently got an ipad and friends say i should get gmail so i can sync all my info. the ipad freezes whenever i check emails thru comcast.net so i tried m.comcast.net and it works ok but it took me awhile to realize i was using the zimbra software.

I find it somewhat hard to believe that Zimbra suddenly appeared on your iPhone. I've installed applications from the iTunes store an every time it has asked me for a password. I've also installed approved apps from other sources and every time I've gotten "are you sure" kind of message.

At this point in time, unless you jailbrake your iPhone it's going to be pretty secure against viruses. The nature of the iOS (the operating system the iPhones/iPads run limits the damage a virus if you did manage to catch one.
