HOLY COW BATMAN! If you can Miele ovens at that price I would never look back. Where did you find those prices? I am planning on buying the Miele so I can't give you an first hand advice since I don't have them installed yet. There are quite a few threads here about both of those brands and particular ovens. Check out the search function at the bottom and you'll find lots of info. Probably more than you want to take the time to read!! Buying appliances has been quite an education for me! I don't know if this helps but I had a vented Zephyr Pyramid in my last house. Worked fine, not too noisy, good lights, cute utensil bar in back (even though we never hung anything on it) and looked great. Spouse still managed to bang head, but no blood due to rounded corners. Much cussing, though. I almost got one for my current remodel. I love the look. Anyway, bumping your post up!

I love my Miele washer and dryer. I don't have the super capacity and I don't have wrinkled clothes! Of course I am would assume that you would be looking at getting the large capacity washer with the corresponding large capacity dryer. It wouldn't make sense to get a super capacity washer and expect everything to fit in the large (smaller) capacity dryer. One of the things I especially love about my Miele dryer is that there is NO static. The instructions say you must NOT use those anti static sheets because they clog up something and also you don't need to. There are major differences between the European dryers and the North American dryers. The European technology is far superior. The North American dryers design seems to have frozen in the sixties or perhaps even before that. I don't understand your comment about changing technologies and the dryer becoming obsolete??? If the North American dryers manufacturers can get away with continuing to use such an old design, your Miele dryer will be decades ahead . I would not worry about that at all. Unless your friends are really snobs and say to you in a few years time, hmmm how come you don't have the new Platinum dryer. BTW, a dryer is not a laptop.

I'm looking at these 36" stainless island hood options, for a 6" duct, to use over a 30" induction range for this kitchen. Of these similarly priced options I have: 9 year old Miele 625 CFM (see page 8) GE Profile 450 CFM Cavaliere "900" CFM Will the more expensive (at the time) but older Miele out perform in terms of quietness and capacity? Does the Miele design look dated compared to the other two? Will the newer hoods feel cheap in comparison? Am I missing any other good options?
