it could be counting ones sent to junk/spam folder also.

Thanks, Raven, and how would I access my spam or "junk mail" ? I've looked and can't locate it.

you should have a folder with that label on it, I have not used OE in years so I don't remember, someone else might know.

There is a folder called "deleted" and they would be in there

My vista windows mail creates a folder named Junk and microsoft updates supplies the 'spam' rule updates every now and then with regular windows updates.

Usually a popup when mail is downloaded saying something spam ... see link for a pic of it.

As far as I can tell, there is no junk mail folder. In the drop down menu of the "deleted" mail folder, there is a Norton folder, but that only has 1 email in it right now. There is such a big discrepancy between what is showing as my mail and what the down loader numbers as incoming that I "wonder where the mail went".

it could be that your junk mail is being directed to your email page at your ISP mail server itself, have you checked to see if you have any mail on their site that is not being sent to your Outlook express email client? That happens quite a lot.

They are not showing up in the deleted mail folder are they? because OE does direct blocked and spam mail directly to the deleted mail folder from what I have been reading.

You can create a junk folder in OE and set up a filter for it, here are the directions.

Sign into your Comcast mail account (in the upper right corner of the comcast.net site). Even though you use Outlook Express, some mail may have gotten into this mail account (why, I don't know, but this is where I found my "mystery" mail).
