Brenda......I'm discovering that no place usually has a cookie with a similar name as the site. That's the problem I'm having. I can get out of everything, and bring up each site I visit, one at a time, and then do a Webroot Spy Sweeper sweep and figure it out slowly that way, but thought I'd ask. Every site seems to have a weird named cookie.

I haven't used WW in years (Win98 and still have it out on the system in the garage) and have up to recently used ASC (stopped because of the pirating software claim). In my experience they are arguably of the same efficiency in cleaning. In fact, I found ASC's cleaning capability on a current par with CCleaner. I've always done some non-scientific efficiency tests for system cleaning utilities and found none of them to be 100%. I would rate the three of them at 98%. I guarantee if you run any one of them and then run the another you would find some very minor leftovers. Unless you use some other available features of ASC or are emotionally attached to it, I would recommend you save your money and use CC. DA

I'd recommend Avast as well. AntiVir is also good. It used to popup nag screens for the pay version, but they stopped doing that last year. It usually scores near the top, and was easy to use. AVG is the other popular free one, but it used to make for a heavier load on the system. You can check one of the independent testing labs like av-test.org - where Avast does well - but the first place spot seems to be tough to keep one year to the next. (See link at bottom) I also don't think it's necessary to pay for an antivirus program. If you know what you're doing and are careful, you don't really need one actually, but for the avg user it's probably a good idea. The problem is, the nastiest stuff out there is ahead of antivirus detection, so you need to stay ever vigilant with your clicks.
