How to save photos embedded in emails

Normally, if someone sends me a photo in an email and I want to keep it I right click on the attachment and save picture as to the folder in My Documents where I want it.

Someone sent me a photo this morning embedded in the email with no attachment and when I right click and save picture as I get an error message "the system cannot find the file specified"

It is a photo of a deceased alumni that I need to put on his profile on the class website I maintain.

Is there a way to save it to My Documents?

Take a screenshot. not the best quality but as you intend to use on another website it likely will be alright.

Click your 'Print screen' or 'PRN SCRN' button, open your photo edit and depending on the program you'll likely click File or Edit to paste it into the program. Then save it in the usual way.

on the actual picture itself once you have it open in full in your email right on the picture and select save as then do as you normally do and select where to store it.
You might try right clicking it and then properties to see if it is some strange format.
I have used that method many times with embedded pictures, however I do not use outlook express.

but I did find this info for you
Another option is to switch to read in Plain Text mode in Tools,
Options, Read, Read all message in plain text. If already viewing the
desired message, you'll need to switch to another message then back for
it to take effect. The Image or music file should now appear as an
attachment that can be saved.

also you can Forward such messages to yourself and you'll be able to save the images

turns out there is an application that you download and it automatically places pics in My photos and photobucket pics them up in seconds..so it was easily done. :) Yes I could have gotten a memory chip for my phone but you still have to stop and put the pic into that chip...at least it doesn't do it automatically on this phone. So be sure that the chip phone you get does it auto. I am glad I figured out a way to do mine very easily. :)

sure as zep said you should be able to right click directly on the picture itself in your email and select save image as then go to your my pictures folder in the browse box and select to put them there.

I can't believe you guys - you are ALWAYS right on the $. I just got off the phone with Dell XPS service. The tech guy put in Firefox. Said IE7 doesn't work & I shouldn't use it. He said it causes all sorts of problems and they can't be fixed. However - you can not remove it cause it is integrated with Vista. So you guys are right again! Thanks for all the help. Now I have to learn vista, a new laptop, wi fi AND firefox. Say a prayer for me. (and yourselves cause I'm sure I'll be here again) Thanks, Debbie.

Thank you, I switched to plain text and was able to save them as attachments.
