can't uninstall AVG

My AVG was trying to do an update and I figured I might as well do the uninstall that I'd been intending to do. Whatever it was trying to install didn't do so correctly and now I get an error message 0xC0070643 when I'm trying to do the uninstall. What can I do? Isn't there another program that I can use to get rid of it. I've tried both going in thru control panel and also directly to the "uninstall" that came with it.

Revo uninstaller is sort of a combined way to uninstall programs and clean up the registry for that programs left overs and some of the left over files/folders it might leave. It's not always 100% effective but its better than windows uninstall - which is really just running the programmers uninstaller. You can try to use revo... I always run it on its most aggressive scan. . To me it sounds like you might need to reinstall AVG 12 the older version..... disable it.... uninstall it maybe with Revo first... then follow up with the AVG uninstall tool .. most want you to run that tool from safe mode. Here is a link that might be useful: www.revouninstaller.com

Owbist, the name of the game is Realwar. My grandson put it on both my PCs. I got it removed from the other one. The reason I was removing it was he never could figure out how to play it and I wanted to make sure I had plenty of room for the Roxio program. What about re-installing the game? Wouldn't it be able to pick up the missing file and then un-install? Or do you think I should do the Revo uninstaller?

If it was in a temp folder, it should be ok to delete. I would run my virus program while in Safe mode, to see if it pickes it up again and gets rid of it.

Java Problems - can't access, can't uninstall

When I go to that page, it does not list my system information. So I clicked each additional suggestion. No luck. Specifics are: The Firefox plugin is enabled. Nothing happens when I try to open the Java panel. It won't open. The instructions for clearing the cache do not seem right. When I go to the Edit button, I do not have a + or option to expand. So I could not do that one. I did try to find it through tools - options - advanced - network. It says I have no cache being stored for on or offline (I had just run ccleaner before =- so that cleared the cache, I think). I still selected clear now - but I couldn't tell if anything happened. So all the options either showed no problem =- or I couldn't not execute them. Any pointers would be great. Thanks. Lynn.
