I have Powerpoint 2003. Right click on the picture, then left click on "Save as Picture". You'll want to make note of where you save it to use it as a wallpaper. If you need instructions on applying as wallpaper, we'll need to know which Operating System you have.

Thats what I thought but I don't have "Save as Picture" when I right click.

Maybe you are trying to save a frame or slide. Just open the slide you want, click on File===>Save As and under File Type select JPG. I would rename it too while you are saving it.

Yes I am trying to save a slide. But there is no save.

Is this presentation saved to your computer or hosted on a website? If it is saved on your computer, have you tried clicking on File (at the top of the screen in the menu bar) then see if there is a 'Save As' listed there?

Most power points you can choose save as...
and if you choose HTML they always seem to put the graphics in the folder where you save it to along with the HTML text/code page to display it in a browser.

None of this works in Power Points received in an e-mail. If it is saved to the hard drive, then do these suggestions work?

No they don't work if they are even saved to hard drive.

I looked through all of my email and couldn't find a single ppt there to practice on! I have been working on PPTs that I created. One last thing to try, right click on the file and then select Properties. On the General tab, near the bottom will be the Attributes. Make sure that Hidden and Read Only are not checked.

Maybe you can expand it as big as possible and press Print Screen ... then paste it into your photo editor and crop out the unwanted stuff.

This thread aroused my curiosity so I decided to try saving a slide from a powerpoint presentation. The only one I found in my email was on the Hubble. I had the same problem as gloriam trying to save a slide.
My version of MS office is ancient (Office 97) because I have been using the free Open Office. When I couldn't save the slide using powerpoint viewer I decided to try the impress module in open office. When I opened the powerpoint presentation in impress this is the screen I got:

I found that I could right click on one of the slides in the left hand column, select 'copy' from the context menu and paste the slide into any graphics program.

Ok I had to try another way also , so I sent the PowerPoint email to my self but to gmail. And LOW AND BEHOLD I HIT THE JACKPOT, when I opened it up there on the right hand side was all the slides and you could save to desktop as wallpaper. Google is great.

Gloriam,
Save the presentation to a folder on your harddrive.
Then, using Windows Explorer (or My Computer) find the file and re-name it, changing the file extension from .pps to .ppt

Then, click on the file and it should open in 'edit' form and allow you to save any photos you wish to save.
